Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithful and patient guidance in our lives. Pray for us all to grow in our trust of Him. Ask Him to help guard us all from the temptation of self-reliance. Pray we will all strive together to accomplish His will and purpose.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Sav-A-Life Vestavia, a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry that is dedicated to offering free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Test Center offers hope by providing medical help, pregnancy counseling, and emotional support while sharing the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed. They also offer many services of support to those who choose life for their baby. We’re also praying this week for Shades Mountain Baptist Church and Pastor George Wright.
Day 1: Pray for clients who are facing an unplanned pregnancy to feel the hope, love, and compassion of Christ through their interactions with volunteers and staff at Sav-A-Life.
Day 2: Pray for women who have experienced the pain of abortion. Pray that they would seek healing, redemption, and hope. Also, pray they would not be afraid to return to one of the Sav-A-Life centers for post-abortion medical and emotional care.
Day 3: Pray for opportunities for Sav-A-Life volunteers and staff to share the hope of the gospel in every interaction with clients as they seek to meet their physical and spiritual needs.
Day 4: Pray for the mothers and fathers in the Sav-A-Life education programs as they learn parenting skills, as well as what it means to have Christ as the center of their families.
Day 5: Pray for God to raise up passionate candidates for the open positions at Sav-A-Life’s three locations. Pray for guidance for Lisa Hogan, Executive Director, as she interviews and hires for those positions.
Day 6: Pray for people across Birmingham to support the three Sav-A-Life ministry locations. Pray that God raises up more women and men to volunteer across the three campuses, to pray diligently for the families facing abortion, and to give abundantly to provide care for those families.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for Long-Termers, H & M, living in the Middle East. Nationals and many expatriates in their city are enslaved to Islam and worldliness as they live in darkness with little to no access to the good news of Jesus. The city is a sprawling, global city filled with millions of unreached people and only a handful of small underground churches. However, recent changes are opening opportunities for gospel work. The number of national believers is growing like never before and you can join in this work by praying even now.
Day 1: Pray for more laborers to go to this city to proclaim the good news. Pray for more healthy churches to be established throughout the city (national and expat).
Day 2: Pray for boldness and more opportunities for national and expat Christians to proclaim the good news to those around them.
Day 3: Pray for local believers, surrounded by darkness, to be bold. Pray for protection from the evil one. Pray for their families to hear and be forever changed by Jesus.
Day 4: Pray that the Lord would move society and circumstances so that everyone in the city would have an opportunity to hear the good news in their lifetime.
Day 5: H & M are moving houses this month. Pray that the Lord would lead them to the right neighborhood and that He would prepare the hearts of their neighbors to hear and receive the gospel.
Day 6: Pray for them to depend on the Lord’s strength and guidance each day as they walk with Him. Pray for their marriage to be an example of the gospel to those around them.
