Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of a new year. Ask Him to grow our devotion to Him and our commitment to His Word throughout this year. Pray for any among us who have not yet put their faith in Christ to do so. Ask Him to develop good works within each of us and among us as a faith family for our good, the good of our neighbors, and the glory of God.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brook Hills’ students of all ages as they begin to prepare to return to school after the extended holiday break. We also want to pray for their parents, teachers, and administrators as they seek to finish the school year strong.
Day 1 - Pray for protection for our students as they return to on-campus activities, home school classes, or virtual classes as the ever-present danger of COVID looms. Pray for the parents and caregivers as they continue to navigate education and safety for their children. Pray for the school staff and system administrators, that they also would be protected and guided as they navigate the post-holiday rise in COVID cases.
Day 2 - Pray that our students would take advantage of opportunities to influence their friends, classmates, and school staff to know and grow in Christ during 2022. Pray that they would be bold in displaying and declaring the gospel to others, especially during the pandemic when the message of the hope found in Christ is needed more than ever.
Day 3 - Pray that teachers, home school parents, and administrators would have wisdom, skill, sensitivity, patience, and endurance as they help students learn, grow, and finish the school year strong.
Day 4 - Pray that our students would grow in knowledge, maturity, and ability as they prepare themselves to achieve God’s purposes for their lives throughout 2022.
Day 5 - Pray for the right amount of rest for students and staff. Pray that students and staff would grow in self-discipline.
Day 6 - Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year. Pray that they would be able to guide them toward strong faith in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for God to use The Church at Brook Hills as we love Jesus, grow in Jesus, and make disciples of Jesus in our city and in the world. Making disciples of all nations is the mission of our faith family and we praise God for all the opportunities He has provided for our church to engage the nations. After every service on Sunday we recite the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and help one another pursue obedience to what God has commanded. This week we want to pray for God to show us where He wants to use us this year and that He gives us a spirit to go and make His name known to the nations.
Day 1: Praise God for the opportunities He has given The Church at Brook Hills to reach globally and declare His glory among the nations. Pray that God will continue to give us these opportunities and that we will be obedient.
Day 2: Pray that God will continue to use our church planting teams to establish his church among least reached people groups who do not have access to the gospel.
Day 3: Pray for our long-term missionaries and for God to strengthen, sustain, and use them and their families for His glory. Pray that God will call others to go and serve long-term as well.
Day 4: Pray for God to give us unique opportunities to engage the nations as the pandemic hinders our short-term efforts.
Day 5: Each year we send out mid-term missionaries to serve anywhere from 2 months to 2 years. Pray that God will continue to call out more college students, singles, and families to serve in this capacity so that we can continue to strengthen the long-term disciple-making work we are apart of.
Day 6: Pray for our Global Team as they lead and serve the Brook Hills faith family to make disciples of all nations.
