Pray for the Church
Praise God for all the ways He has worked in and through our lives and our church over this past year. Thank Him for how He has so faithfully sustained us and granted us perseverance throughout 2021. Ask Him to grow our hope in response to all He has done, continues to do, and will do in the future. Pray for Him to help us all faithfully follow Him wherever He may lead us in 2022 and to confidently rely upon His Spirit to empower us as bold witnesses to HIs gospel here and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for King’s Home, a Christian ministry that provides homes and counseling for hundreds of youth, women, and children seeking refuge, hope, and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and other difficult and impoverished conditions and circumstances. King’s Home owns 21 homes located on six campuses across four Alabama counties: Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, and Tuscaloosa. We’re also praying this week for Chelsea Village Baptist Church and Pastor Tyler Gordon.
Day 1: Pray for the King’s Home residents who do not yet know Christ to be drawn to Him during this time of year. Pray for this to be a season of revival and recommitment, especially for the youth, mothers, and children who do not know Jesus as their Savior.
Day 2: Pray for the mental wellbeing of the residents, which is already compromised due to past abuse. Pray against the strongholds of fear, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression during these days of uncertainty and viruses.
Day 3: Pray for financial provision. Pray for the lost income from the past two years during the pandemic to not only be recuperated, but to be abundantly more than what was lost. Pray for King’s Home to be able to continue providing basic services for each youth, woman, and child they serve, while also sharing the hope of the gospel each day.
Day 4: Pray for King’s Garden, a horticultural education program for residents and staff. Pray for the winter youth garden sessions to continue to be a fruitful time of learning for the students. Pray for the new chicken program to be successful as the residents learn to work with 150 free-range and organic laying hens. Pray for an abundant harvest from the garden this spring and summer.
Day 5: Pray for the Prodigal Pottery Program that equips and employs women at King’s Home. Pray for each woman who works with the pottery to be blessed by her work, learn job skills to serve her later, and to ultimately secure full-time employment outside of King’s Home.
Day 6: Pray for the staff and board of King’s Home. Pray for wisdom and guidance as they seek to lead this ministry in 2022. Pray for God to receive all the glory as they seek to serve those most in need.
Pray for the World
This week, as we conclude our Global Offering month, we want to take time to thank God for allowing us the opportunity to partner with incredible organizations and kingdom partners around the world. God has blessed Brook Hills with strong connections among the least reached so that we can meet urgent spiritual and physical needs by investing in strategic projects that help fuel long-term disciple making. This week we are praying for God to continue to bless the projects we have participated in corporately this year, and to provide new opportunities for us to give towards new projects in 2022. To give to the Global Offering so that more people can hear the good news, visit brookhills.org/globaloffering.
Day 1: Praise God that we get to use our Global Offering resources toward strategic projects with trusted partners around the world. Pray for God to continue to bless the projects Brook Hills was a part of in order to make Christ known to the least reached.
Day 2: Pray specifically for the projects that provided access to God’s Word and to church resources being translated into many languages. Pray for these resources to strengthen believers and the growing church in North Africa, Middle East, South Asia, and Central Asia.
Day 3: Pray for the projects that provided for the physical needs of the least reached and gave believers access into communities of people who need Christ. Pray for these resources to benefit communities we are working in throughout Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
Day 4: Pray for the men and women who benefitted from the Global Offering and were able to be strengthened theologically to better lead the emerging church among the least reached in places like Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Day 5: Pray for God to use the strategic projects the Global Offering supports to display the gospel to those with pressing physical and spiritual needs. Pray for many to hear of Christ and for the church around the world to be strengthened by our partnership in the gospel.
Day 6: Pray for God to bless the Global Offering and use projects in 2022 to glorify Himself among people who do not know Him.
