Praise God for the freedoms and liberties we are blessed to experience as Americans. Pray for His guidance as we consider how to vote regarding a variety of candidates and issues. Ask Him to give us all wisdom and humility. Pray for our leaders and candidates to be transformed be the gospel and to work for and promote good rather than evil. Pray for leaders and candidates to treat all people with honor and dignity as God’s image bearers. Pray for us all to maintain unity in God’s church even in our diversity. Pray for us all to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of honoring and glorifying God through the remainder of this election season and beyond.

This week we are praying for The WellHouse, a local Christian ministry extending God’s grace to adult victims of human trafficking. The WellHouse is celebrating ten years of providing opportunities for restoration for hurting women.  From first contact on the crisis call, to time together after being rescued, The WellHouse employs a multidisciplinary approach to recovery as they address all areas of need in a safe environment where trust and faith begin to grow. We’re also praying this week for Christ Church PCA, Trussville and Pastor James Dickson.

Day 1: Pray for the spiritual growth of all rescued survivors, specifically that all who enter The WellHouse will see and feel the love of Christ and choose to become His daughter.

Day 2: Pray for financial provision for The Wellhouse, especially in the midst of this pandemic. Pray for God’s resources to continue to provide abundantly for the needs of the women finding safety and security at The Wellhouse.

Day 3: Pray for success in the development of new WellHouse programs. Pray specifically for the fruition and building of WellHouse Child, which will serve and minister to children that have been victims of sex-trafficking on a short-term basis.

Day 4: Pray for The WellHouse’s upcoming virtual luncheon on October 29. Pray the event will raise awareness of human-trafficking across our city, as well as across our country through the virtual platform.

Day 5: Pray for all the rescued women. Pray for those that have graduated and exited The WellHouse to find shelter and safety in Christ and fellowship with His church. Pray for The WellHouse’s newest rescues, that they would find a place of peace, safety, and healing. Lastly, pray for the women who have not yet been rescued. Pray for them to hear the Lord calling them to Himself and find the courage to reach out for help.

Day 6: Pray for God to bring justice by exposing and eliminating human-trafficking in our city and around the world.

This week we are praying for Somali people. The Somali are located primarily in the Horn of Africa but many live in the US. Somalis are almost entirely Muslim and there are many physical needs resulting in humanitarian crisis. They are among the top 5 least reached people groups in the world and are very difficult to access and engage. Join us as we pray for God to move among Somali people and for the gospel to spread among them.

Day 1: Pray God would ransom many Somalis from the darkness in which they live. Pray for Christ to be made known and for many Somalis to believe.

Day 2: There are tiny pockets of Somali believers who are gathered and God is building His church among them. Pray for God to sustain the small group of believers as they grow in faith and love in Christ.

Day 3: There are approximately 145,000 Somalis living in the United States with large populations settled in Minnesota, California, Georgia, Colorado, and Washington D.C. Pray for God to mobilize local churches who are around Somali communities to have a burden for their neighbor and engage them with love and boldness. Pray for God to give access into Somali communities in these cities.

Day 4: Pray for Christian workers who are engaging Somali communities throughout the Horn of Africa and in other parts of the world where Somali families live. Pray for God to give favor to those serving among them.

Day 5: Somalia has been on the World Watch List since 1993 as one of the worst countries for Christians. Christians barely survive on the outskirts of society and face significant persecution. Martyrdom is very common. Pray for God to sustain Somali believers and make bold the church in sharing the gospel. Pray for hearts of Somalis to be opened to the truth of the gospel and for many to know Christ.

Day 6: Pray for the glory of God to be made known among Somali peoples.
