Pray for the Church
Praise God for His continued and ongoing faithfulness in our lives and toward us as a church. Ask Him to continue to grow us in our love for Him, our knowledge of His Word, and our unity with one another. Pray for us to be a strong and bold witness to the gospel among our friends and family, classmates and coworkers, and in our neighborhoods, city, nation, and world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for our Love Oliver Ready Day One school registration party happening Saturday, May 18 at Oliver Elementary School. Sponsored by Brook Hills, this event also partners with Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank, Serving You Ministries, Oak Tree Ministries, Village Church, and The Vine Church. These Love Oliver partnerships provide an avenue for Brook Hills members and other community partners to join hands with Oliver families in addressing economic, academic, and social barriers as we pursue disciple-making and growing in Christlikeness while we love Oliver families together. We are also praying for The Church at Liberty Park and Pastor Randy Overstreet.
DAY 1: Pray that as each family enjoys the Ready Day One party and receives diapers, backpacks, and clothing gift cards; they would be encouraged by the love of Christ through His Body of believers who have joined together to love and serve them.
DAY 2: Pray Ready Day One would be a fruitful day of evangelism and that every participant would be touched in some way by the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray for gospel conversations. Pray we can effectively connect believers to local churches to continue their discipleship and grow in their walk with the Lord.
DAY 3: Pray for the students and families of Oliver Elementary School. Ask the Lord to protect their families, bless their homes, and continue to draw Oliver families to Himself. Pray for their homes to become places of peace and for their families to act as a light for the gospel among their neighbors.
DAY 4: Pray for the teachers and staff at Oliver Elementary School. Ask the Lord to draw all of them to Himself and for the gospel to be seen through the believers’ words and deeds. Pray for health, safety, skill, and strength for every staff member. Pray that the teachers and staff’s love for the children can be seen and felt by all who enter their building.
DAY 5: Pray for members of our Faith Family and others in the community who will be investing in disciple-making relationships with Oliver families through one of the many serving opportunities at Oliver and with our partners this Fall and Spring. Ask God to send more laborers into His harvest.
DAY 6: Pray for all of our community partners that will be serving alongside Brook Hills at Ready Day One. Pray that the Lord will continue to greatly bless their ministries and churches and that the beautiful story of the gospel will be made known far and wide because of their efforts.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for some of our long-term partners serving in the Middle East.
DAY 1: Pray for these partners to cling tightly to Jesus in all they do. Pray their words and their ministry will be like a sweet aroma to the unbelieving world around them. Pray they will be bold in their witness and courageous in the Lord.
DAY 2: Please pray for the English speaking church and the two Arabic speaking churches to continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and grow in number (2 Peter 3:18, Acts 2:47). Pray the churches would be unified as Jesus prayed and they would be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace within their membership and within the community of churches there (John 17, Ephesians 4:3).
DAY 3: One of the Arabic speaking churches just voted on Biblical Leadership (Elders/Deacons/Deaconesses). Pray for the Lord to continue to grow the church in Christlike maturity and protect them from false doctrine as they all use their gifts properly, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:11-16).
DAY 4: As their team continues to grow, pray for them to lead with humility and grace. Pray for them to seek Christ first and love their team members well. Pray they will grow in wisdom as they learn to lead out in their city.
DAY 5: Pray for their marriage to remain strong in this season of change and team growth. Pray they will love each other well and serve each other with gladness. Pray for good health for all of them. Pray they will seek each day to discern good from best and learn how to steward their time well as they seek to glorify the Lord in all they do.
DAY 6: Pray for their new baby girl, born this past week on May 6! Pray both of their daughters will grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. Ultimately, pray for children to be saved and raised up as workers to engage faithfully in the work of the Lord.
