Pray for the Church
Praise God for the forgiveness He offer us through faith in Jesus Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring us conviction regarding sin in our lives. Pray for God to help us all live confidently in His forgiveness. Pray we as a Faith Family would be marked by our hope in God in the midst of this sinful world in which we live.
Pray for the City
Today is Orphan Sunday. Churches around the globe are joining together in prayer for orphans and raising awareness of the worldwide orphan crisis. We want to join them in prayer and celebrate how Jesus has moved in His churches to care for orphans. Locally, we are praying for our families, agencies, institutions, and ministries who are helping care for orphans. We are also praying for Immanuel Church and Pastor Andy Adkison.
DAY 1: Pray for our adoptive families at Brook Hills – for those who have been in the journey for a while, for those who are just beginning the journey, those who are awaiting a match or birth, and those who are beginning the bonding process.
DAY 2: Pray for our foster families who are standing in the gap for children during a time of crisis in their lives. Ask the Father to strengthen them and to give them wisdom and compassion for the children He brings into their homes.
DAY 3: Pray for our adopted and foster children, that they will quickly feel and respond to the love of Christ exhibited through their new families. Pray they will come to know Christ and will experience healing in their souls.
DAY 4: Pray for the many Birmingham agencies and ministry partners that support foster and adoptive families, including Brook Hills WRAP Ministry, Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes, Lifeline Children’s Services, Alabama DHR, APAC, Grace House, King’s Home, The Forgotten Initiative, and Altar84.
DAY 5: Pray for wisdom for judges, attorneys, and all court personnel as they serve families walking through long and emotional court proceedings. Pray also for all service providers (CASA, probation officers, rehabilitative and mental health professionals) who assist parents and children in being reunited as a strong family unit.
DAY 6: Pray for the Lord to continue to stir the hearts of His church to care for orphans. Pray for many more to become adoptive or foster parents and for the church to surround and support every adoptive and foster family within their body.
Pray for the World
On Orphan Sunday, churches in our community and in our world focus their prayers on the worldwide orphan crisis. There are approximately 153 million orphaned children in the world. (This number excludes institutionalized children, children on the streets, and children who are at risk, neglected, or abused.) Of these children, only .5% will have the opportunity for international adoption. This means our care for the orphan has to extend beyond adoption. This is why Brook Hills partners with Lifeline Unadopted to care specifically for a network of 17 orphanages in Liberia. Through this partnership and the REAP program, we are able to help care for older orphans and develop opportunities for them to hear the gospel, learn life skills, develop career awareness, and receive education that will sustain them and offer a healthy transition into productive adulthood. For more information about Lifeline UnAdopted visit unadopted.org.
DAY 1: Thank God for the students who will attend the REAP program this year. Pray for God to open their hearts to the gospel
so they can be saved.
DAY 2: In a few weeks another group will graduate from the REAP program with a life skill. Praise God for these graduates
and for their hard work and diligence to learn a new skill. Pray for these young men and women, many of whom will age out of
the orphanages soon, to feel confident in their future because of Christ.
DAY 3: One of UnAdopted’s goal at the camp is to equip students with skills needed to transition into productive adulthood.
Pray for camp attendees to be eager to learn, persistent to grow in knowledge, and disciplined to persevere as they refine the
skills they have learned.
DAY 4: The Liberian church is strong and growing. Pray for the church to persevere by God’s grace and to be obedient to serve
their neighbor and share the gospel with those without the hope of Christ. Pray for the Liberian church to see their role in caring
for the orphans who live in their community.
DAY 5: Liberia has suffered greatly from generations of war, famine, and poverty. As a result there are many orphans living in
Liberia. Pray for the orphanage leaders as they care for and raise the children God has entrusted to them. Pray for REAP to be a blessing to these caregivers as they see students grow and develop.
DAY 6: Pray for the leadership at Lifeline UnAdopted, Destiny, the camp Director, and the REAP camp staff to rely on the Holy
Spirit’s guidance as they lead.

Jesus Thank You
Verse 1
The myst’ry of the cross I cannot comprehend
The agonies of Calvary
You the perfect Holy One crushed Your Son
Who drank the bitter cup reserved for me
Chorus
Your blood has washed away my sin
Jesus thank You
The Father's wrath completely satisfied
Jesus thank You
Once Your enemy now seated at Your table
Jesus thank You
Verse 2
By Your perfect sacrifice I've been brought near
Your enemy You've made Your friend
Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace
Your mercy and Your kindness know no end
Bridge
Lover of my soul I want to live for You
Not in Me
No list of sins I have not done
No list of virtues I pursue
No list of those I am not like
Can earn myself a place with you
O God! Be merciful to me
I am a sinner through and through
My only hope of righteousness
Is not in me, but only You
No humble dress, no fervent prayer
No lifted hands, no tearful song
No recitation of the truth
Can justify a single wrong
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
No separation from the world
No work I do, no gift I give
Can cleanse my conscience, cleanse my hands
I cannot cause my soul to live
But Jesus died and rose again
The power of death is overthrown
My God is merciful to me
And merciful in Christ alone
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
And He alone can give me rest
