Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of our faith family here at Brook Hills. Ask Him to grow us all into people of prayer. Pray for us to live confident in who He has made us. Pray for many others to come to know Him through our witness.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for King’s Home, a Christian ministry in Shelby County that provides homes and counseling for hundreds of youth, women, and children seeking refuge, hope, and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and other difficult and impoverished conditions and circumstances. They were formerly known as King’s Ranch and Hanna Home. We’re also praying for Meadow Brook Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Jones.
Day 1: Pray for the King’s Home residents who don't know Christ to come to know Him as their loving Lord and Savior. Pray for the youth, women, and children touched by King’s Home to be drawn to Him for strength to heal and rise above their circumstances.
Day 2: Pray for stable mental and emotional health for the youth, women, and children supported by King’s Home. Please pray against fear, rage, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression that some residents struggle with due to trauma in their stories. Pray for healing for their minds and hearts.
Day 3: Pray for financial provision for all of the King’s Home programs. Spring and summer are historically low periods for giving. Pray this year would be different. Pray for the fruitfulness of funding efforts to provide for all of the residents' needs, especially in the midst of the rising prices of gas, food, and other essentials.
Day 4: Pray for King’s Home Houseparents and Direct Care Staff who are on the "front lines" of care for the residents. The Houseparents have a challenging job that is caring for the King’s Home youth 24/7, many of whom arrive with behavioral issues. Those in Direct Care need an abundance of grace, patience, and energy. Pray that they would be encouraged in the Word daily, have rich fellowship with others, and feel re-energized after their time off.
Day 5: Pray for the right staff to fill open positions at King's Home. Much like the rest of the country, filling open staff positions has been a challenge recently. Please pray that God will bring the right people to love and encourage the youth, women, and children of King’s Home.
Day 6: Pray for the King’s Home mission to be fulfilled and for their work to glorify God. Pray that their homes would remain Christ-centered. Pray that King’s Home staff and volunteers would exhibit both compassion and competence in caring for the residents. Pray that the residents’ emotional, mental, physical, relational, and spiritual needs would be met.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-term partner, Nia M. Nia is serving in Central Asia, providing education and childcare support for missionary children. This task gives peace of mind to the missionaries, as well as a stable and secure learning environment for the children. Nia is also in charge of the children’s program at their church.
Day 1: We rejoice with Nia that two new brothers and three new sisters have professed their faith in Christ through baptism and local church membership over the past six months! Pray for these new believers to be strengthened in their faith as they grow and are discipled.
Day 2: Pray for God to cultivate hearts of good soil among Central Asian peoples, particularly for the people in a small city to the east of where Nia lives. Recently, she met and had the opportunity to pray with indigenous believers in this city. They invite us to join them in their prayers for salvation for their city and their country.
Day 3: Pray for the salvation and discipleship of the kids Nia serves in the International Church. She has a unique opportunity to pour into these children’s lives, both in school and at church. Pray she will steward this well and that Jesus will call these children to be His own.
Day 4: Pray for God to guide Nia’s research of co-ops and international schools in other cities as she explores more sustainable educational options for missionary children in her city. Also, pray for the Lord to send more like-minded, trained teachers to join her in the work there.
Day 5: Pray for residency visas to be granted to missionaries so that the sharing of the gospel and church planting efforts can continue in the unreached areas of this country.
Day 6: Lastly, pray that the Lord would bless her, keep her, smile on her, be gracious to her, and give her peace (Numbers 6:22-26).
