Praise God for His faithfulness and for the justice He has promised and He alone has the power and righteousness to execute. Thank Him for the salvation He brings, and pray for the salvation of those you know who have yet to trust in Christ. Pray for God to use this Christmas season to help them see their need for Him and to lead them to repent and turn to Him.
This week we are praying for various Christmas outreach efforts across our city, specifically among our ESL Students — through the Brook Hills ESL (English as a Second Language) Ministry — and among our neighbors in Marks Village (through Oak Tree Ministries). The Christmas season offers a unique opportunity to witness to others as we celebrate the true gift of Christmas, the free gift of eternal life made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are also praying for Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor Michael Wesley, Sr.
DAY 1: Pray for our own faith family as we find intentional ways to engage the lost, show hospitality, and exalt Christ during this Christmas season. Pray for faithful and fruitful gospel conversations.
DAY 2: Pray for the ESL Christmas Celebration on December 13. Pray for God to give the students spiritual understanding as they learn about the true meaning of Christmas.
DAY 3: Pray many of our unbelieving neighbors will be invited into Christian homes this Christmas to witness the joy that this holiday brings to those who have trusted in Christ.
Day 4: Pray for Christmas in the Village, on December 14-16, in Marks Village. Pray for Christ to be exalted and glorified through this outreach and for mutually transforming relationships to be formed. Pray for many gospel conversations.
DAY 5: Pray for our partner ministries and other Christian organizations in the community as they seek to honor the Lord and serve the city through various avenues this Christmas.
DAY 6: Pray for many across our city to personally consider the gift of Christ this Christmas and to receive His gift of forgiveness and eternal life through repentance and faith.
This week marks the second week of our Global Offering celebration and we want to pray for the unreached people groups that God has allowed our church to engage and work among. A people group is a group of people with common cultural and linguistic characteristics (ethno-linguistic group). There are an estimated 11,000 people groups in the world. Over 6,000 of those are considered unreached. Unreached is defined, on a whole, as a people group with less than two percent evangelical Christian. Basically, that means there’s not a large enough, sustainable gospel presence for access to the gospel. There are roughly 3,000 people groups that are unengaged, meaning you’ve got a people group that’s not only unreached, but no one is intentionally targeting that people group to reach them with the gospel. We want to be about the work of this urgent need with our lives and our resources. Join us as we pray for the Global Offering to help us as we engage unreached peoples around the world.
DAY 1: Pray for the Hui in East Asia. Pray for God to move in the hearts of Hui men and women and cause them to see their need for a Savior. Pray for the Global Offering to open new doors into Hui communities this next year.
DAY 2: Pray for the Baloch in Central Asia. Praise God for saving Watson, a Baloch man. Pray for God to strengthen Watson’s faith and to use him and the rest of our Brook Hills team to build His church among the Baloch.
DAY 3: Pray for the Arundo in North Africa. Pray for more workers to be called out to serve among the Arundo. Pray for God to give more access into this difficult community. Pray for ways to use the Global Offering to get the gospel to the Arundo.
DAY 4: Pray for the Global Offering to help us to send more workers to unreached people groups next year. Pray for the unreached people our teams will encounter next year. Pray for open hearts to the gospel so that they may hear and believe in Christ.
DAY 5: Praise God for His gospel which is powerful enough to save all people for heaven (Romans 1:16). Pray for God to mobilize His church to go and commit their lives to tell of His salvation.
DAY 6: The Son of God deserves the praises of all peoples (Romans 1:5). Pray for us as a church to prioritize our lives and resources for the sake of the gospel among the over six thousand people groups that do not have access to it.
