Pray for the Church
Celebrate God for His mighty love and everlasting love and for all He has done throughout history and in your life. Confess any sin in your life and ask for His forgiveness. Pray for God to help you resist temptation to sin in the future. Thank Him for His provision of your daily needs. Pray for those in your life you know are in need of God’s sustaining grace. Pray for the Spirit’s guidance as you seek to follow God wherever He leads.
Pray for the City
Since 1984, the third Sunday in January has been nationally observed by members of the pro-life community as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. In preparation for this day, we are praying this week for the lives of the unborn and for the intrinsic value of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death. We are also praying for the annual Birmingham March for Life that will be held this Saturday, January 16 at 10:45am at Brother Bryan Park (birminghammarchforlife.com) and for First Baptist Church of Alabaster and Pastor Steve Andrews.
Day 1: Pray for the women in our city and across the nation who are pregnant to comprehend the value of the child they are carrying and for God to give them the strength and courage to choose life.
Day 2: Pray for the Church to stand in the gap for the unborn, the most defenseless of God’s children, and to make disciples among the parents of the unborn.
Day 3: Pray elected officials and medical professionals will experience conversion of mind and heart and for court decisions that permit the destruction of the unborn to be permanently reversed.
Day 4: Pray for men and women who are mourning the loss of a child to abortion. Pray for the gentle and merciful love of God to heal their innermost being so they might know repentance, mercy, and peace.
Day 5: Pray for Sav-A-Life and other pregnancy resource centers in our city and nation that offer free resources, education, support, and counseling to couples facing crisis pregnancies.
Day 6: Pray the March for Life this Saturday will be a powerful demonstration of God’s love for the unborn and their parents, and that through this event the Lord would awaken the hearts of Birmingham residents to His unfailing love for all people.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills field partner Jesse S. and his family serving in India. Jesse leads a team of workers who are strategically serving among Unengaged Unreached People Groups. Their goal is to see disciples formed and healthy, multiplying churches established among these people groups. Join us this week as we pray for Jesse and his family as they serve the peoples of India. We are also praying for Short-Term Teams serving in South Asia and the Middle East.
Day 1: Praise God that He is raising up new networks of multiplying churches across India. Pray for God to call out more laborers to participate in the work He is doing across India so more people can know of Christ.
Day 2: Jesse and his team have a training program to equip believers in disciple-making and church planting. Pray for the groups of men currently being trained by Jesse and his team to be faithful and fruitful in planting new churches.
Day 3: Jesse’s team has a vision of planting 40 networks of multiplying churches. Pray for God’s grace as they work and give their lives for this vision. Pray for God to accomplish what he has laid out for Jesse’s team in a way that only He receives glory.
Day 4: Pray for the 47 remaining Unengaged Unreached People Groups under Jesse’s leadership who have no access to the gospel. Pray that they would be reached by the gospel and for many to be saved.
Day 5: Pray for Jesse as he balances training nationals, leading his team, and leading his family.
Day 6: There are significant challenges and barriers to the gospel going forward in India. Pray for God to establish and sustain His church in India. Pray for our partnership with Jesse and his team to help further the gospel and make Christ’s name known.

Before the Throne of God Above
Verse 1
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
Verse 2
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Verse 3
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless Righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God
O Praise the Name
Verse 1
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Savior on that cursed tree
Verse 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
Chorus
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
O Lord O Lord our God
Verse 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
Verse 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
Lord I Need You
Verse 1
Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
And without You I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart
Chorus
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev'ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
Verse 2
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Bridge
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
Chorus
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev'ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
