Ministry Role & Responsibility: As pastor of worship, I give leadership to 3 areas - 1. Planning and leading our worship gatherings, 2. disciple-making and leadership development, and 3. creating worship ministry resources. I hope that God will give us faithfulness and fruit in these 3 areas over the next season of ministry at Brook Hills. My prayer is that our Worship Gatherings will be filled with delight in the glory of God. I also pray that God will use me and our team to disciple church members to greater fruitfulness and that God will continue to raise up leaders who will serve our church in the Worship Ministry. And we aim to continue to write songs and produce training materials that will serve both our local church as well as believers near and far.

About Me: Danielle and I were married in 2002. We moved to Raleigh, NC so that I could go to South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary and she could get her Master's from NC State University. We ended up staying in that area for the next 14 years. I served at 2 amazing churches (Providence Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Durham) and God gave a lot of deep friendships during those years. We have 3 daughters (Bennett, Eden and Mercy). Our family loves exploring Birmingham, traveling and discovering good coffee shops and local eateries.

God used 2 Corinthians 5:21 to help me understand the wonderful exchange of the gospel. Christ took my sin and gave me his perfect righteousness. I often go back to this verse to warm my heart to grace.

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." – 2 Corinthians 5:21

Interesting Fact: I recently ran into Chris Tomlin in a coffee shop. Like not in a metaphorical way. I actually hit him as I was grabbing the cream and sugar.
