Global Church
…so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. — 1 Corinthians 12:25-26
All Christ followers should be actively a part of a local body of believers, but we are also all a part of the global body of Christ, the Church. We must show unselfish concern for the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world. We must recognize that we there is a way to be the church here for the sake of there. Let’s take a brief look at the circumstances the body of Christ faces around the world.
There are approximately 750 million evangelical Christians in 10,432 people groups worldwide, of which 6,343 of these people groups are unreached. Most believers in these groups lack access to scripture and biblical training.
Persecution
There are over 200 million in evangelical Christians in over 50 countries who regularly face various degrees of persecution for their faith in Christ. As members of the same body we are to pray for and identify with our persecuted family around the world.
