Pray for the Church
Praise God for the peace we have with Him and in this world through Jesus Christ. Ask Him to help us all resist the temptation to envy and selfish ambition. Pray for Him to grow us all in godly wisdom as we study and live out His Word.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Blanket Fort Hope (blanketforthope.org), a Christian ministry in the Birmingham area working in partnership with Alabama DHR to care for child survivors of trafficking. They seek to be a fortress of safety by providing love and care through education and prevention, housing, legal services, and a long-term commitment to forging a path of purpose and hope for these children. We are also praying for Calera Baptist Church and Pastor Jason Jarvis.
DAY 1: Pray for the children, traffickers, and “Johns.” Pray for protection, rescue, and restoration for the children currently being trafficked throughout the world and for them to come to know Jesus who can make all things new. Pray the traffickers and the “Johns” will come to know our Lord and repent. God’s children are not for sale.
DAY 2: Praise God for the abundant favor He has shown Blanket Fort Hope in their work with Alabama DHR and other important officials. Ask the Lord to continue to show favor to BFH and to continue to make clear the path as they work to help restore victims of child trafficking.
DAY 3: Pray for the Blanket Fort Hope Restoration Home. Praise God for much construction already completed! Blanket Fort Hope is currently working on licensing as well as preliminary steps to hiring house parents, and other staff. Pray for God’s grace and provision over this 4-6 month process that will coincide with the construction of the home.
DAY 4: Pray for financial provision for Blanket Fort Hope. Pray for the Restoring Hope Gala on February 29 and the Hold the Fort 5K/10K/1 Mile Walk happening on September 21. Ask the Lord to send generous donors to take part and sponsor both events. Pray for continual generosity through regular giving for the sustainment of the Restoration Home.
DAY 5: Pray for the new Program Director, Kim, as she attends required training in anticipation of operating their Restoration Home this year. Pray for Alexa (CEO), Brook Hills member Phaedra (Project Manager), Ellie (Development Coordinator), Kat (Marketing Coordinator), and Betty (Bookkeeper). Pray they all work together for the glory of God.
DAY 6: Pray for the Blanket Fort Hope staff, board members, and volunteers. Pray they would do the work God has set out for them with wisdom, grace, joy, and gratitude. Pray against all spiritual warfare for them and their families.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for some of our long-term partners in Cambodia. This family serves in the Buddhist country of Cambodia with their two daughters, aged four-years-old and two-months-old.
DAY 1: Pray for spiritual and physical health for this family. Ask God to remain faithful to them and strengthen them as they adjust to being a family of four. Pray for their newest addition to grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man. Pray for their marriage to continue to be an example of the gospel to those around them.
DAY 2: Pray for the salvation of friends they’ve with whom they’ve been sharing the gospel, like Jasmine, Theary, and Mrs. Olive. Pray for softened hearts to hear the Truth and be forever changed.
DAY 3: Pray for their local believers in their missional community to abide in Christ and help lead their families and friends to faith.
DAY 4: Pray for the husband and his ministry partner in their online outreach. Pray that as people interact with them online, it would lead to in-person gospel sharing and discipleship.
DAY 5: Pray for the local church this family is a part of to guard against false teaching and to form healthy small groups among members.
DAY 6: Their four-year-old daughter’s friend, Nia, does not know Jesus, so she told Nia that, “He is our Creator who made us and everything!” Please pray for Nia and her family to believe the gospel. Pray for their daughter to continue to boldly share Jesus and love Him for her whole life.
