Praise God for the faith family He brings together in the local church. Ask Him to develop a spirit of generosity within us as individuals and as a people. Pray for Him to grow our hospitality and to strengthen our sense of community within our church. Pray for the salvation of friends, family members, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers, and ask God to add to our church those He is saving.

This week we are praying for Banks Academy, a private Christian high school in the northeast side of Birmingham with a mission to train and educate with excellence and provide hope for a bright future. They are celebrating seven years of serving low-income families in the Birmingham area. They recently moved to a new, larger building located in Huffman at Huffman Baptist Church. Banks Academy was founded by Brook Hills member, Darryl White, along with a few others. We’re also praying this week for Hope Community Church and Pastor Jacob Simmons.

Day 1: Pray for Dr. Cathy Trimble, Banks Academy Principal. Pray for wisdom as she is tasked with the great responsibility of leading the teachers, staff, and students. 

Day 2: Pray for the Banks Academy teachers. Pray that they will encourage and support each other throughout the day. Pray that they will have ears of discernment to hear the spiritual need of each student.

Day 3: Pray for the Bank’s Academy students. Pray that Banks would not only be a place to receive an extraordinary education but would also be a safe space for students to exist. Pray for a hedge of protection around the school to keep the shootings and other evils in the city away.

Day 4: Pray for the Bank’s Academy board members. Pray that they would be clearly led in all decision-making by the Lord, including an upcoming decision about adding additional grades and classrooms. Pray that the Lord would continue to call more people to join the board. 

Day 5: Pray for the Lord to be gracious to Bank’s Academy in their financial needs. Pray that the entire $1,400,000 budget for the 2022-23 school year will be met without delay. Pray that donors would see the joy in helping students enjoy God’s good design for their lives, beginning with a great education.

Day 6: Pray that Satan will not be effective in his desire to kill, steal, and destroy the Banks Academy students, staff, and school. Pray that the love of Christ will be evident in all the Banks Academy family does and that animosity and hate will not be seen in the halls of Banks Academy.

This week, we are praying for our partnership as a Hub Church for the Central Asia Affinity within the International Mission Board (IMB). Please pray for wisdom for the leadership team for the Central Asia affinity of the IMB. They give leadership to teams that serve some people groups who are toughest to engage with the gospel.

Day 1: Brook Hills is one of six churches that gives accountability, encouragement, and feedback to the leadership of this affinity. Pray for our faithfulness to strengthen their hands in ministry. 

Day 2: Pray for wisdom for an upcoming meeting with this leadership team in Central Asia that representatives from Brook Hills will attend. 

Day 3: Please pray for God’s grace for open access to the missionaries serving in this affinity, and open hearts to the many people groups that have no gospel witness.

Day 4: Lift up this leadership team as they navigate complicated team unity issues with their personnel scattered across the world.

Day 5: Pray for mutual strength to be the result of our partnership with the International Mission Board and for spiritual protection for its president, Paul Chitwood.

Day 6: Pray for the gospel to be clearly proclaimed in heart languages all across Central Asia, and for current and future pastors to be grounded in the Word and mature in their character.
