Praise God for sending Jesus as our perfect high priest. Ask Him to help us all hold firmly to our confession of the gospel. Pray for Him to help us all resist the temptation to sin. Pray for Him to give us all the mercy and grace we need.

This week we are praying for Living 180 Ministries, a ministry founded by Brook Hills members, Paul and Suzi Talley, working to bring healing, restoration, and healthy communication to Christian couples in crisis through couple-to-couple counseling, a community of encouragers, and workshops for wives, husbands, and couples. Living 180 was formerly known as Christian Marriages in Crisis. We’re also praying this week for Shades Mountain Baptist Church and Pastor George Wright.

Day 1: Pray for Christian marriages in our local church, our city, and our world. Pray that husbands and wives would live according to God’s plan and purpose. Pray they would display the glorious relationship between Christ and His bride—the Church.

Day 2: Pray for the pastors and wives that are struggling in their marriages. Pray that as Living 180 ministers to them and their families, their marriages would encourage others around them. Pray for continued and new opportunities to reach pastors and their wives.

Day 3: Pray for all the couples currently seeking help through Living 180 Ministries. Pray for God to intervene in their very difficult situations. Pray for them to not become discouraged, but instead to complete the Marriage Bootcamp and allow God the space to heal their marriages.

Day 4: Pray for financial blessing and security for Living 180 Ministries. Pray that God’s people would continue to give bountifully to help protect and support marriages.

Day 5: Pray that God will continue to use the materials Living 180 presented at their recent marriage conference in Honduras. Pray for wisdom for the Living 180 staff as they have already been asked to return. Pray for direction and clarity as the Living 180 staff navigates ministering in Honduras while still having much work to do here.

Day 6: Pray for Paul and Suzi Talley as they minister to couples in crisis. Pray for God to give them wisdom and to protect and strengthen their marriage. Pray that Paul and Suzi’s marriage would be a light to other couples around them.

This week, we are praying for our Long Term Partners, Andy and Bekah D. They live in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They work at an international school where Bekah serves as the Director of School Advancement and Andy is an Ethics and Values teacher. They are covenant partners at Gospel City Church, which provides opportunities for discipleship, teaching, and preaching the Word of God. Andy and Bekah are individually involved in the ministries of Gospel City Network/City to City and Parakaleo. Andy is a trainer with Gospel City Network, and Bekah will be going through the process to become a trained facilitator with Parakaleo later this year.

Day 1: Pray for the city of Kuala Lumpur (KL). Pray that God’s kingdom would come and His will would be done. Pray that all the peoples of KL will be reached by the gospel, from refugees and migrant workers to the people that call the nation, “home.”

Day 2: Pray for Andy and Bekah’s relationships with their neighbors. They moved in during the pandemic which made it very challenging to meet them. In this season, they are focusing on one block in their neighborhood and asking the Lord to move among the seventeen houses on their street. Pray for them to meet all their neighbors and know their names by the end of September. After meeting all the neighbors, they plan to invite them all to a holiday block party. Pray that people would not be hesitant to join, but would come and have good connections and conversations.

Day 3: Andy will be preaching at three churches in the KL area over the next few months. Pray for wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit as he prepares. Pray that the gospel will be clearly proclaimed. 

Day 4: Pray for Bekah in her advancement role. As she interacts with each family who comes through the school, pray that she would welcome them well. Pray for Bekah as she leads her staff. Pray that she would lead well with Christlike care. 

Day 5: Pray for Andy as he prepares to welcome seventh graders and seniors into the classroom. Pray that Andy would be able to teach well in his first year in this role. Pray that the students would be cared for and challenged to grow in his classes. 

Day 6: Pray for Andy and Bekah’s marriage. Pray for God to continue to give them unity and peace. Pray for them to be good communicators. Pray that as they love and sacrificially serve one another, it would be a gospel-proclaiming picture of Christ and the church to their neighbors and to the students and families at the school.
