Praise God for being our good and loving Lord and Savior. Ask God to grow our trust in Him and our submission to His sovereign will. Pray for Him to grant us boldness to proclaim the truth of His gospel to all the world no matter what trouble it may bring us.

This week we are praying for Birmingham Urban Young Life, a Christian ministry with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. Birmingham Urban Young Life serves the students of Restoration Academy, Putnam Middle School, Banks Academy, and Woodlawn High School. Their office is located on the Huffman Baptist Church campus. We’re also praying this week for Huffman Baptist Church and Pastor Rob Paul.

Day 1: Pray for every student within the influence of Birmingham Urban Young Life to have the opportunity to meet Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. Pray for boldness for our leaders in presenting the gospel and for the Lord to even now be softening the students' hearts.

Day 2: Pray for the students involved with Birmingham Urban Young Life to have a positive year. Pray for safety, health, and perseverance at their work. Pray for new positive friendships to form.

Day 3: Pray for the families of the Birmingham Urban Young Life students. Pray for them to be touched by the love of Christ and for their lives to be transformed.

Day 4: Pray for the Birmingham Urban Young Life leaders to overflow with the love of Jesus so they can continue pouring out into the lives of teens. Pray for them to be consistent in their service to deepen their relationships with the students.

Day 5: Pray for new leaders in the Birmingham area to feel the call to mentor students in the urban community. Pray for more people to feel the burden to mentor, pray, and love students in hard places.

Day 6: Pray for the gift of financial sustainability for Birmingham Urban Young Life. Pray for Sedrick Moore, the Executive Director, and for the Board of Directors as they seek to steward well the resources provided for their work.

This week we are praying for Mid-Termer, Josh S. Josh serves the body of Christ by engaging young Spaniards with the gospel in a cross-cultural exchange program with the goal of developing deep friendships with students. As he serves students, he and his team take them to the Word and work to uproot the weeds of past religious hurt, while planting seeds for the true gospel to grow into faith.

Day 1: Today, Sunday, October 9, Josh is preaching in his church. Pray for him to communicate the love of Jesus to his church and that he would draw all of his strength from the Lord. Pray for wisdom as he regularly teaches at their gatherings. 

Day 2: Josh has recently started a cultural exchange program. Praise God that 70 students have signed up. Unfortunately, Josh’s team is way understaffed. Pray for them to find people to work with these exchange students and for the gospel to flow freely to these students from around the world.

Day 3: Spain is part of Europe and mostly post-Christian. Less than 1% of Spaniards are evangelical believers. 10 million Spaniards live in towns and cities with zero evangelical presence. Pray for clarity for Josh and his team about who to partner with and how to strengthen the churches that are there. Pray for the Father to bless and protect national brothers and sisters and their efforts to glorify Him. 
 
Day 4: Pray for the Father to open the eyes of several Spanish students who have shown consistent interest in the gospel. Pray for God to make His steadfast love clear to them, that they would fully understand their sin and what the Son has miraculously done to reconcile sinners to Himself. Josh will be leading seeker Bible studies this fall. Pray for God to send the students whose hearts are ready to receive the gospel. 

Day 5: Several interns have joined Josh and his team. Pray for Josh as he intentionally meets with these interns and works with them in developing leadership skills for the future. Pray specifically for a local believer, E, who often ministers with Josh. Pray for God to grow him in this process and for E to clearly discern whether he should pursue being a pastor or not. Pray for Josh to be a clear example of the gospel to these interns. 

Day 6: Pray for Josh as he navigates single life abroad. Pray for the Lord to protect him, keep him, and uphold him in His righteous right hand. Pray for Josh’s team and for their love and unity to grow and be a picture of the grace of Jesus to the lost around them. Josh has been on the field for over two years. Pray for wisdom as he looks to the future and for direction with his partners.
