Pray for the Church
Pray for God to grant strength, patience, understanding, and wisdom to the men in our faith family to lead their families well. Pray for the fathers in our church to take seriously their responsibility to raise up their children in the knowledge of God. Pray for all of us to join these fathers in helping them make disciples of their children. Pray for the fatherless today to find comfort in God. Pray for fathers who have lost children to know the peace only God can provide. Praise God for being our good, gracious, and loving Heavenly Father.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Awaken, a nonprofit, gospel-based recovery ministry dedicated to helping individuals and ministry organizations navigate through the painful waters caused by sexual brokenness and addiction. Founded by Brook Hills members Greg and Stacey Oliver, Awaken desires to establish relationships with local church and ministry leaders to help them better understand and respond to these issues. We are also praying for Dawson Family of Faith and Pastor Gary Fenton.
DAY 1: Pray for people who are currently struggling with an addiction to sex or pornography, and who are experiencing infidelity, betrayal, and other attacks on their marriages and relationships. Pray for God to bring these struggles into the light so they can receive help. Pray for the Awaken support group attendees that meet regularly at Brook Hills.
DAY 2: Pray for the rapidly growing number of Christian women who struggle with pornography and sex addiction, that they will realize that porn is not just a “men’s issue,” so they can be freed from shame and receive the help they need to recover.
DAY 3: Pray that Awaken will be able to establish relationships with many churches and other ministries to help them become better prepared to address issues of sexual sin and brokenness graciously and biblically.
DAY 4: Pray for therapists looking to refer their clients to support groups to consider Awaken as a resource for counseling and community.
DAY 5: Pray for Greg and Stacey, for the strengthening and protection of their own marriage and their children, and that they will be able to rightly prioritize ministry and family.
DAY 6: Pray for financial provision for Awaken as current monthly giving is well below what is needed to sustain the ministry. Pray for God to call out members of local churches to partner with Awaken with prayer and financial support.
Pray for the World
This week we want to spend time praying for the 17 million Malay peoples living in Malaysia and throughout the world. The majority of Malay people are Muslim. June marks the beginning of Ramadan for 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. During this month, Muslims all over the world will fast, pray, and seek to be closer to Allah. Join us this week as we pray for Christ to be made known and that He would bring Malay men and women to himself. This week we are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in South Asia and Europe.
DAY 1: Pray for the Spirit to work in the lives of over 17 million indigenous Malay people (John 16:13).
DAY 2: Pray for the Malay to see their need for a Savior and repent from their sins (Ezekiel 14:16).
DAY 3: Pray for the Malay to see that their works will not save them (Eph. 2:9-9).
DAY 4: Pray for the Malay to realize their need for salvation (Romans 3:23). Pray for the Malay to confess Jesus Christ as Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Pray for the Malay to believe in Christ as Savior (John 5:24).
DAY 5: The Malay are difficult to reach because of restrictions on proselytizing in their community. Pray for God to use workers in His harvest to share the gospel and that the door will be opened to share among the Malay (1 Cor. 16:9).
DAY 6: Pray for the small handful of Malay believers to be bold in witness (Eph. 6:19) and that the Malay will bring glory to God and exalt His name (Psalm 86:9).
This Is Amazing Grace
Verse 1
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Verse 2
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Chorus
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh Jesus I sing for all that You've done for me
Verse 3
Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory the King of Glory
Verse 4
Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Bridge
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy worthy worthy
How Deep the Father's Love for Us
Verse 1
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Verse 2
Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
Verse 3
I will not boast in anything
No gifts no pow’r no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Man Of Sorrows
Man of sorrows Lamb of God
By His own betrayed
The sin of man and wrath of God
Has been on Jesus laid
Oh that rugged cross my salvation
Where Your love poured out over me
Now my soul cries out hallelujah
Praise and honour unto Thee
Silent as He stood accused
Beaten mocked and scorned
Bowing to the Father's will
He took a crown of thorns
Oh that rugged cross my salvation
Where Your love poured out over me
Now my soul cries out hallelujah
Praise and honour unto Thee
Sent of heaven God's own Son
To purchase and redeem
And reconcile the very ones
Who nailed Him to that tree
Now my debt is paid
It is paid in full
By the precious blood
That my Jesus spilled
Now the curse of sin
Has no hold on me
Whom the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
See the stone is rolled away
Behold the empty tomb
Hallelujah God be praised
He's risen from the grave
Forever (We Sing Hallelujah)
Verse 1
The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon Him
Verse 2
One final breath He gave
As heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken
Pre-Chorus
The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated
Chorus
Now forever He is glorified
Forever He is lifted high
And forever He is risen
He is alive and He is alive
Bridge
We sing hallelujah we sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah the Lamb has overcome
How Great Is Your Faithfulness
Chorus
The heavens ring
The saints all sing
Great is Your faithfulness
From age to age we will proclaim
Great is Your faithfulness
How great is Your faithfulness
Verse 1
Now unto the King who reigns over all
And never changes or turns
Unfailing justice unfading grace
Whose promises remain
Yes Your promises remain
Verse 2
Ev'rything changes but You stay the same
Your Word and kingdom endure
We lean on the promise of all that You are
And trust forevermore
We will trust forevermore
Bridge
From generation to generation
You never failed us O God
Yesterday and today and tomorrow
Until the day You return
