Ministry Role & Responsibility: My role on the Brook Hills leadership team primarily relates to preaching and vision. My passion is to connect the gospel of Jesus to each aspect of our life as a church – our worship, nurture, and mission – so that we are increasingly amazed by God's grace, drawn together in meaningful fellowship, and equipped to show and share Christ both in Birmingham and among the nations.
About Me: I married Paula in 1996. I love being married to this woman! We've been blessed with three children – Hunter, Will, and Ellie. We moved to Birmingham, from New Orleans, in 2012. We love this city. We love this faith family. We've been surrounded by incredible friends. Chill time for us often involves two or more of the following: friends, a BBQ pit, basketball (in the hand or on the TV), and a book to read aloud. Also cookies.
On Staff and Member of Brook Hills Since: March 2012
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of grace." – Hebrews 12:1-2
Interesting Fact: I can't taste the difference between fancy coffee (imported, fresh ground, add other java-cultic lingo here) and Community coffee – Morning Blend (see red bag at any Publix). More than that, I'm not convinced anyone else can either. If I disappear, you will know why.
