Jay Gordon

Adult & Small Groups Minister

Ministry Role & Responsibility: As the Adult and Small Groups Minister, my responsibility is to create a healthy small group culture that will draw people into groups, disciple them, and then send them out in various ways to impact their community and the world.

About Me: My wife, Liz, and I have been married since 1985. She has a heart for the nations and her outlet for that is working with E3 Partners. Their goal is to establish a church within walking distance of everyone on the planet. She also has a green thumb and enjoys spending time outside. We have two children children – Andy, a mechanical engineer in Philadelphia, and Emily, a college student at Troy University. I grew up in Northwest Alabama and later graduated from Jacksonville State University and Southwestern Seminary. Most of my ministry has been in Shelby County, spending 17 years at Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, but we actually moved to Brook Hills from Arkansas.

On Staff & Member Of Brook Hills Since: 2014

Favorite Scripture:

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil." – Ephesians 5:15-16

Interesting Fact: Our favorite vacation spot is Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. I love college football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and wings from Bob Baumhower's.
