Pray for the Church
Praise God for His strength and provision. Ask Him to grant us the perseverance and protection needed to stand against Satan’s schemes. Pray for God to not see others as our enemies but as those who, like us, also need Christ. Ask God to help us all equip ourselves with His armor for all we will face in this world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Aspire Movement, a local, Christian mentoring ministry aimed at developing and deploying the next generation of urban leaders through mutually transforming relationships. Aspire focuses on the mental, physical, spiritual, and social development of urban youth through life-on-life mentoring, small group mentoring, summer camps, college trips, career development, leadership development, and a network of resources to shape students’ identity, purpose, and destiny. We’re also praying for Valleydale Church and Pastor Mac Brunson.
Day 1: Pray for exponential growth in Aspire’s numbers of students and mentees. Pray for those students to be healthy and safe during the pandemic. Pray for their nerves to be calmed as they prepare to return to school.
Day 2: Pray for new volunteers to begin serving at Aspire. Pray that even in light of the current atmosphere of uncertainty, the Lord would call people to mentor the at-risk youth that Aspire serves.
Day 3: Pray for God to continue to meet Aspire’s financial needs in the midst of such a strange and difficult moment for our society. Pray even in times of financial instability in our country, generosity would not end.
Day 4: Pray for Aspire to find favor with the schools this fall. Pray for Aspire’s staff and volunteers to be granted permission to enter the schools and continue to meet with the students that need them most.
Day 5: Pray for the eight Aspire graduates of 2020. Pray they would continue seeking the Lord in the next season of their lives. Pray for God to open doors of opportunity for them.
Day 6: Pray the Aspire staff would experience deep, personal communion with Jesus always, but especially during the waiting caused by the pandemic. Pray for the Aspire staff to continue to encourage and support one another in their most important work.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termers Dwight and Mary Kay M. serving in Thailand. Dwight and Mary Kay serve the church throughout Thailand with their organization creating digital resources for the strengthening of believers and research for the Thai church to reach every village with the gospel. Join us as we pray for Dwight and Mary Kay.
Day 1: Like the rest of us, Dwight and Mary Kay are navigating the current pandemic as a family and seem to be doing well so far. Pray for God to continue to protect their family and staff from the virus and for wisdom as they seek ministry opportunities with the local church there.
Day 2: Dwight recently had knee surgery and is recovering. Pray for Dwight to be patient and diligent in his recovery to exercise his knee and regain strength for the work ahead.
Day 3: Pray for our brothers and sisters in Thailand who are faithfully proclaiming the gospel. Pray for God to strengthen their faith as they hear and study the word. Pray for the Holy Spirit to encourage their hearts as they seek after Christ.
Day 4: Pray for the pastors Dwight and Mary Kay have the privilege of serving among. Pray for God to grow healthy, multiplying churches under the humble leadership of these men. Pray for the Thai church to be refined as they walk through suffering and difficulties.
Day 5: Dwight and Mary Kay need to return to the US in the upcoming season. Pray for God to give them wisdom as they navigate the realities of the pandemic and travel concerns. Pray for God to provide the paperwork needed for Mary Kay’s visa renewal.
Day 6: Pray for God to be glorified throughout Thailand and for many to be saved.
