Pray for the Church
Praise God for times when you've experienced His rescue. Pray the evidence of the Word, the testimony of other Christians, and the directing of the Holy Spirit will lead you towards a stronger confidence. Ask God to help you lay down your sin of anger towards Him for the times you believed that He did not listen and respond. Ask God to help you lay down the worry that His answers or His nearness are connected to the earnestness or passion of your prayer.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Cross Cultural Connections, or CCC, (bhmccc.org), a Christian nonprofit serving refugees and immigrants in the Birmingham Metro area. They exist to equip refugee and immigrant families with tools and resources to become self-sufficient and thrive in their new home through personalized coaching, education, and community support. CCC uses a model of long-term relationships with the hope to see all nationalities thriving in our city while finding and living out God’s good design for their lives. We are also praying for Green Valley Baptist Church and Pastor Jeff Keith.
Day 1: Pray for the hundreds of new refugees CCC is actively resettling from South Africa. Pray for these families as they acclimate to their new neighborhoods and navigate the challenges new immigrants face in Alabama. Ask God to open the doors for refugees from other countries to also find safety in America.
Day 2: Pray for more gospel conversations as CCC works with least-reached people groups, who are often hard to access. Pray for the people CCC serves to see Christ through the volunteers and staff caring well for them. Pray they would enter into saving relationships with Jesus.
Day 3: Pray for Kathy Woods, executive director, the board, the staff, and the volunteers at CCC. Pray for joy and endurance as they continue to demonstrate Christ’s love and compassion to refugees and immigrants. Pray for wisdom and guidance as they continue to expand and restart the refugee resettlement program.
Day 4: Pray for ongoing employment opportunities for CCC’s adult clients. Ask God to raise up more Christian employers who are willing to hire refugees and immigrants and pay a living wage.
Day 5: Pray for CCC’s long-term development program. Praise God for the ways He has used coaching to equip clients and cultivate self-sufficiency. Ask God to continue to bless and leverage this program to help families flourish in Alabama.
Day 6: Ask God to continue to provide financially for CCC with the refugee program restarting unexpectedly. Pray for new funding opportunities through grants and business partnerships. Pray for new monthly donors to join CCC’s network of support so they can budget well for 2027.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for those who we have sent to Southeast Asia and a small group of Brook Hills members who will be traveling to Southeast Asia to conduct a retreat. At this retreat, our missionaries will have a chance to rest and receive encouragement through ministry and fellowship.
Day 1: Pray for traveling mercies for our Brook Hills team and for our Southeast Asia families who will be traveling for the retreat. Ask God to provide the Brook Hills team with all they need, as they wrap up their preparations. Ask God to help the team serve in love and humility during the retreat.
Day 2: Ask God to give the pastors who will be leading the retreat great wisdom and discernment as they prepare. Ask God to make them sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and use them to minister to those who will be attending the retreat.
Day 3: Pray for “J” and “P” as they attend the retreat. Ask God to give them restorative rest and use the retreat to refresh and encourage them. Pray they will return home with a renewed mind and spirit.
Day 4: Ask God to use the retreat to give “P” and “V” a chance to rest and receive encouragement from others. Pray they will leave the retreat restored, renewed, and strengthened.
Day 5: Pray “C” and “B” will enjoy fellowship with others and be refreshed in their heart and spirit through the retreat. Pray they would enjoy a time of rest.
Day 6: Pray for “P” and “J” to be able to rest and enjoy a few days of companionship with friends. Pray they will feel renewed and strengthened by their time at the retreat.
