Pray for the Church
Praise God for His amazing power and magnificent compassion. Ask God to grow our faith as we faithfully follow after Christ. Ask Him to help us see the vitality and effectiveness of our prayers.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Bundles of Hope (bundlesdiaperbank.org), a Christian nonprofit caring for the Birmingham community by meeting the basic, essential, monthly needs of diapers for Alabama families. Because diapers are expensive and not covered by any government programs, one in two Alabama families struggle to afford diapers for their child. Bundles of Hope seeks to connect with families needing diapers through church partnerships and Christian nonprofits so they will know Jesus’ love and care for them. We are also praying for All Christ Church Birmingham and Pastor Mark Lamb.
Day 1: Pray for clients of Bundles of Hope. Pray they would experience the love of Christ from volunteers and staff. Pray for ongoing gospel conversations and relationships with churches and ministry partners distributing diapers.
Day 2: Praise God for the opportunity Bundles of Hope had to expand this year. Praise God for the provision of finances and resources to purchase their facility. Ask God to give their leadership ongoing wisdom and guidance as they navigate how to use new parts of the facility.
Day 3: Pray for Bundles of Hope’s programs. Ask God to continue to use walk-in appointments to serve and love families by meeting current physical needs. Pray for wisdom in growing their partnership with DoorDash to deliver resources to families across Birmingham. Ask God to bring more volunteers, specifically Spanish-speaking volunteers, to serve with families throughout the week.
Day 4: Pray for Bundles of Hope’s nearly 100 church and community partners. Pray they would continue to act as the hands and feet of Christ through diaper collections and distributions. Pray they would lean into gospel conversations and inviting families into local churches.
Day 5: Pray for Lindsay Gray, executive director, and her staff. Pray for ongoing wisdom and grace as they serve clients and families. Ask God to bring the right people to grow their staff and board.
Day 6: Pray for the 12th annual Bundles of Hope Diaper Drive starting this week. Pray for this event to highlight their work to bring God glory and share His love across the city. Pray for both new and deepened relationships with partners through this year’s diaper drive.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our short-term teams that will be traveling around the world this fall. We have teams going to Southeast Asia, North Africa, Europe, and Central Asia.
Day 1: Ask the Lord to work in the lives and hearts of each team as they prepare to go. Ask Him to help them prepare well, to not be distracted by the busyness of getting ready to go but dedicate themselves to time in the Word and prayer, and to go in complete dependence and reliance on the Lord.
Day 2: Ask the Lord to begin to prepare the hearts of those our teams will encounter on their trips, for the Holy Spirit to even now begin to draw people to Himself. Ask God to give teams supernatural boldness to share the good news and hope they have in Christ.
Day 3: Ask God to use each of these teams to be a blessing to those they will be serving with. Pray they would serve in humility and grace, sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading while they are there. Ask God to use those who are going to encourage our BH missionaries and those they encounter during the trip.
Day 4: Pray for our teams to be flexible and gracious in all circumstances and situations. Ask God to give them the ability to adapt to unexpected situations and show the love of Christ during those times.
Day 5: Ask God to bless our teams in their obedience to go and serve in another context. Ask Him to use this time to strengthen their faith and trust in the Lord so that, in turn, they would encourage and strengthen other believers while they are there.
Day 6: Ask the Lord to grant travel mercies to each team, to strengthen them, and to provide all they need physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they go.
