Praise God for the faith family He brings together in the local church. Ask Him to develop a spirit of generosity within us as individuals and as a people. Ask Him to grow our hospitality and to strengthen our sense of community within our church. Pray for the salvation of friends, family members, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers, and ask God to add to our church those He is saving.

This week we are praying for Brook Hills’ initiatives. City Ministries oversees four initiatives to love, serve, and make disciples among vulnerable people across the Greater Birmingham area. Together as a faith family, we respond to God’s call to love the fatherless, sojourners, prisoners, and the poor. Join us in praying for Foster Care Ministry, ESL Ministry, Iglesia la Conexión, Prison Ministry, and Love Oliver. We are also praying for Iron City Church and Pastor Isaac Adams.

Day 1: Pray for our Foster Care Ministry. Pray for the foster families at Brook Hills to feel cared for and supported. Pray for foster children at Brook Hills to see the gospel and experience the love of Jesus Christ. Ask God to raise up more foster families among our faith family.

Day 2: Pray for our ESL Ministry. Praise God for the opportunity to build relationships with international families and share Christ’s love with them. Pray for our leadership team, teachers, hospitality volunteers, and childcare volunteers as we start back in September. Ask God to draw many students to Himself through this ministry.

Day 3: Pray for Iglesia la Conexión. Praise God for the four believers who were baptized this month. Pray they would continue to proclaim and demonstrate the Good News of Jesus by living transformed lives. Pray they would continue to engage in outreach to their neighbors, inviting them to church and into discipleship.

Day 4: Pray for Prison Ministry. Ask God to continue to open the eyes of prisoners to their need for Him. Pray for endurance and daily grace for those who love and serve prisoners. Ask God to provide men and women reentering their communities with local churches, stable employment, and safety.

Day 5: Pray for Love Oliver. Pray for Oliver Elementary School scholars to continue to register for the school year. Pray for the administration to lead educators and classrooms with excellence, love, and grace. Ask God to continue to raise up young disciples from the scholars who do not yet know God.

Day 6: Pray for our faith family. Pray we would continue to devote ourselves to love, serve, and make disciples among the fatherless, sojourners, prisoners, and poor in Birmingham. Ask God to continue to raise up more individuals and families to fill in the volunteer gaps in these ministries.

This week we are praying for Josh and Rachel, serving in the Middle East.

Day 1: Pray for Josh and Rachel and the business they run in a large city in the Middle East. The Lord has protected and provided for their business, even in the midst of the current conflict. Ask God to continue to give them wisdom and discernment in business decisions.

Day 2: Ask God to give Josh and Rachel strength and sustain them as they are expecting their second child this fall. Praise God for a healthy mom and baby. Pray for the baby's delivery and for continued good health for both of them.

Day 3: Ask the Lord to help Josh and Rachel develop deeper, life-giving business relationships. Pray for God’s love to be evident in them and others to be drawn to them because of the way they love others and conduct business.

Day 4: Ask God to give them wisdom and discernment in how to grow their business especially with the uncertainty in the region. Ask God to continue to supernaturally bless their efforts and use their business to bless those around them.

Day 5: Pray for the local fellowship where Josh and Rachel are members. Ask the Lord to bless, grow, and strengthen the membership and bind them together in unity. Pray they will minister well to the community around them, especially those who are impacted by the current conflict.

Day 6: Josh and Rachel have been in a long adoption process. Pray for their family as they work and wait for the child they will adopt. Ask the Lord to guard their marriage and grow their faith and trust Him in the waiting.
