Praise God for the salvation made available to us through faith in Jesus Christ. Pray for those who have not yet trusted in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins to hear the gospel and respond in faith. Pray for us all to live our lives in light of the redemption we have in Jesus.

This week we are praying for Forged Birmingham (forgedbhm.org), a leadership foundation seeking to equip and empower leaders to impact Birmingham with the transformative love of Christ for the flourishing of the city. Their approach is accomplished through discipling, developing, and deploying the next generation of urban leaders who are Christ-centered and city-centric. We are also praying for Harvest Community Church PCA and Pastor Michael Jones.

Day 1: Pray for current urban leaders in Forged Birmingham’s cohorts. Pray they would be deeply rooted in the gospel. Ask God to form their character through discipleship. Pray they develop deep, lasting relationships and ask God to use Christ-centered community to sustain them.

Day 2: Pray for the urban leaders who have completed Forged Birmingham’s cohorts. Pray they would be effective leaders as they engage urban parts of Birmingham. Ask God to refresh their spirits daily as they grow in their love for Christ and labor across Birmingham.

Day 3: Praise God for the last year of ministry. Thank God for the ways He continues to establish, cultivate, and deepen relationships through Forged Birmingham’s groups. Praise God for the vision He continues to give their leadership as they create paths of sustainability.

Day 4: Pray for the next season of Forged Birmingham’s growth and sustainability. Ask God to continue to give insight, wisdom, and vision to the leadership as they make decisions. Pray for the leadership to continue to seek God’s glory and the good of the city.

Day 5: Pray for Danny Brister Jr., CEO of Forged, and associate minister of Harvest Community Church, as he leads this organization. Praise God for Danny’s faithfulness to raise up urban leaders in Birmingham. Ask God to give him renewed strength and joy as he carries out this mission. Pray for his family as they navigate this season of life.

Day 6: Pray for Birmingham and the city sectors Forged leaders engage in. Pray for continued gospel transformation in urban areas across Birmingham. Ask God to continue to raise up leaders to lean into these sectors with humility, grace, and endurance.

This week we are praying for Sam, Jared, and Elizabeth as we commission them to go to the Middle East.

Day 1: Ask the Lord to use this time as they prepare to leave to grow their faith, love, and trust in Jesus. Ask God to give them rest and sweet time with family and friends. Ask the Lord to continue to provide all they need as they get ready to go.

Day 2: Ask the Lord to help them get established, get settled, and integrate well into their communities. Pray they would meet neighbors and establish friendships that will be encouraging and help them feel at home.

Day 3: Ask the Lord to help them in language learning. Pray they will have focus, retention, and the mental stamina to study and use their language skills. Ask God to bless their capacity to learn and retain language.

Day 4: Ask God to give their teams unity in the Spirit of Christ. Pray they would work well together in the bond of peace and be an encouragement to their teammates. Pray they will be a blessing to the local fellowships they will be a part of.

Day 5: Pray the Spirit will begin working in the hearts of those they will be trying to reach. Ask God to help them develop relationships with those living in darkness and to soften their hearts so they are ready to hear, understand, and believe the Good News.

Day 6: Ask God to bring about salvation and redemption where they will be living and working. Pray for healthy churches to be established and for the light of the gospel to shine brightly in the Middle East.
