Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness toward us and for how we can always rely upon Him. Ask Him to grow our faith and trust in Him in all things. Pray for one another to hold fast to Christ and release our fear whenever we encounter troubles in this world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the families of Oak Tree Ministries (oaktreeministries.org), a Christ-centered ministry serving alongside the Marks Village community in Gate City. Most children there attend Oliver Elementary School. They envision a community filled with God’s Shalom, as promised in Isaiah 61. They provide accessible programming that is Gospel-centered, trauma-informed, and community development oriented for neighbors in every lifespan stage. We are also praying for The Church at Liberty Park and Pastor Buck Poole.
Day 1: Pray for the preschoolers, children, and adults in Marks Village. Ask God to continue to transform the hearts and lives of the community through holistic care. Ask Him to cultivate deep and mutually transforming relationships within the community and Oak Tree Ministries. Pray for Marks Village to be a community of light and hope, known by their love for Jesus Christ.
Day 2: Pray for the adolescents in Oak Tree Ministries’ Teen Programs. Ask God to protect and heal their minds and hearts as many face significant health diagnoses and mental health challenges. Pray for them to feel loved and cared for at Oak Tree Ministries. Ask God to give them wisdom, guidance, and peace about what to do after graduation.
Day 3: Pray for the families facing difficult circumstances. Pray for them to find their hope in God amidst trials. Pray for them to feel God’s tangible presence through the trauma-informed care Oak Tree Ministries employs. Ask God to guide Oak Tree Ministries as they care for these families.
Day 4: Pray for Marks Village as the summer approaches. Ask God to protect the community as gun and domestic violence often increases in warmer months. Ask God to establish peace in the community. Ask God to continue to raise up community members to faithfully exult His Name in these months.
Day 5: Pray for the Oak Tree Ministries team and leadership. Ask God to give them perseverance to hold fast to the hope of Shalom. Ask God to give grace, wisdom, and unity in navigating difficult decisions and circumstances. Pray for God’s guidance for Raquel Patterson, Executive Director, as she leads the organization faithfully.
Day 6: Ask God to continue to provide resources for Oak Tree Ministries. Ask God to provide new supporters to strengthen their work in Marks Village. Ask God to raise up partners to assist in the development of the Newman Center for Renewal. Pray that God would receive all glory as Oak Tree Ministries continues to love their neighbors and seek restoration.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Ryan and Lauren who were serving in the Middle East. They have recently returned from the field and are transitioning to a new work in the U.S.
Day 1: Pray for Ryan and Lauren as they settle back into life in the states. Pray for them to continue to seek the Lord, trusting in Him as He leads them into a different work here in the U.S.
Day 2: Ask God to give Ryan wisdom as he establishes a new nonprofit that will support and enable people to secure legitimate work opportunities, equipping them to go and serve in hard-to-reach areas of the world where the gospel needs to go.
Day 3: Ask the Lord to use this nonprofit to transform unreached communities through business and sustainable vocations for the glory of Christ.
Day 4: Ask God to continue to grow Ryan and Lauren in their faith and trust in Him. Pray for them to walk in faith in the new areas of ministry He has provided for them.
Day 5: Ask the Lord to continue to use their local church to make His name known in their city and around the world. Ask God to use Ryan, Lauren, and their family to be a blessing to their church and their community.
Day 6: Ask God to bless their marriage, leading them to love each other sacrificially and pursue Christ together in unity. Pray for them to be led by the Spirit as they disciple and care for their children. Pray for their children to come to faith, and for their family to be faithful, continuing to make Christ’s name known in all that they do.
