Pray for the Church
Praise God for Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, which made the way for us to be reconciled to Him. Confess and repent of your own sin in your life, and ask and thank God for His forgiveness. Praise Him for Jesus’ resurrection, which demonstrates His power over sin and death. Thank God for the faith He grants us by His grace so we will be saved.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Christ Health Center (christhealthcenter.org), a group of health clinics demonstrating the love and power of Jesus Christ in Woodlawn and Chalkville by providing excellent, affordable healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured. Patients have access to the very best in primary care, mental health care, dental services, professional counseling, and pharmacy services. Christ Health Center’s overarching desire is to see the sick made well and the well made whole in Christ. We are also praying for Zion Springs Baptist Church and Pastor Adam Mixon.
Day 1: Pray for the patients at Christ Health Center and their neighbors facing hardship. Ask God to remove barriers to care, like cost, transportation, fear, and language. Pray for patients to experience the love of Jesus during their appointments. Pray for the clinics to be beacons of light in their neighborhoods.
Day 2: Pray for the new Pediatric Clinic. Pray for children and families to feel seen, safe, cared for, and valued by the nurses and doctors they interact with. Ask God to bring more children into their facilities to experience hope and healing.
Day 3: Pray for the upcoming Slossfield Clinic. Ask God to continue to provide and give wisdom during the building process. Ask God to raise up strong community around the clinic. Ask God to foster trust and lasting impact for His glory through this new clinic.
Day 4: Pray for the Gap Year Program. Ask God to use the time invested in this program to raise up future healthcare leaders. Pray for continued discernment from God for those preparing for medical school.
Day 5: Pray for Robert Record, Chief Executive Officer, and Christ Health’s leadership and staff. Pray for strength, wisdom, compassion, and endurance from God in their daily work. As they labor on, ask God to enable them to remain aligned with their mission and core values.
Day 6: Pray for ongoing provision for Christ Health Center. As the number of uninsured patients increase in the Woodlawn community, ask God to provide for their clinics in abundance. Ask God to continue to raise up generous supporters who long to see the sick made well and the well made whole in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of Cambodia and for our missionaries serving in Cambodia as they intentionally spread the Good News of Jesus during the Khmer New Year celebrations next week. Khmer New Year is deeply entwined with Buddhist customs, and it serves as a sacred occasion for Cambodians. They work to earn merit through making offerings, giving alms, giving food to monks, honoring one's elders, and through a variety of other New Year traditions. Join us in praying that the gospel will be faithfully shared during the Khmer New Year and that many would come to faith in the One True God.
Day 1: Pray for the families who flock to Buddhist temples to give offerings and receive blessings. Ask God to open their eyes and help them recognize their need for salvation through Jesus and eternal forgiveness for their sins.
Day 2: Pray for local believers who sometimes receive pressure from families to join them at the temples to give offerings. Pray for them to be encouraged in Christ and to boldly share with their family members and neighbors the hope and security they have in Christ.
Day 3: Ask God to give believers fruitful conversations with Buddhists who need to understand what Christ has already done for them. Ask God to open the doors to their hearts, by His Spirit, to receive the Good News.
Day 4: Pray for believers to honor their families well as they return to their hometowns. Pray for humility and kindness as they demonstrate the gospel in their relationships.
Day 5: Ask God to help local churches minister well to their communities during the Khmer New Year. Pray for people to see a difference in those who have been born again.
Day 6: Pray for unity in churches across Cambodia and for them to be a blessing to every province and village. Ask God to enable them to be bold with the gospel and disciple people well. Pray against the enemy who wants to divide and discourage believers.
