Pray for the Church
Praise God for being so trustworthy and faithful toward us. Ask Him to help us all grow in our faith and trust in Him. Pray for us all to turn to God no matter what crises we may face in life.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Empowered to Conquer (empoweredtoconquer.org), a Christian nonprofit seeking to develop faith, promote education, and build relationships among teens. They hope to see students empowered to live out their God-given purpose through group programming, mentoring, and retreats. We are also praying for Redeemer Community Church and Pastor Joel Brooks.
DAY 1: Pray for the students engaged with Empowered to Conquer. Pray for God to open their eyes to their need for Jesus and for them to enter into a saving relationship with Him. Ask God to break generational cycles, equipping students to excel spiritually, academically, and socially.
DAY 2: Pray for the student groups at Empowered to Conquer. Pray for God to cultivate deep relationships within these groups. Pray for students to pursue unity and practice showing grace to one another. Pray for students to utilize these skills in high school and beyond.
DAY 3: Pray for the new mentoring program at Woodlawn High School. Pray for God to show favor to mentors as they support, guide, and build relationships with students. Ask God to use these relationships to encourage and equip the next generation of Woodlawn graduates.
DAY 4: Pray for the upcoming Limitless Retreat in April. Pray for God to soften the hearts of students attending. Pray for the Good News of Jesus to be clear in discussion and in sessions. Pray for leaders to illustrate how the gospel transforms lives and show the compassion of Christ during their time together.
DAY 5: Pray for God to provide financially for Empowered to Conquer. Ask Him to raise up partners and donors who have a heart for their mission. Pray for God to provide abundantly for their needs as they launch new programs this year and are looking to hire new staff members.
DAY 6: Pray for Brittany Hogan (Executive Director), the staff, and leadership of Empowered to Conquer. Pray for God to deepen their love for Himself and the students attending their programs. Ask God to raise up a new Coosa County Program Coordinator and a male Birmingham Program Coordinator. Pray for God to give the board and staff wisdom and insight to lead and disciple students.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our student teams as they serve on short-term trips in Michigan, Louisiana, Alabama, New York City, Nicaragua, and Peru.
DAY 1: Pray for travel mercies and good health as they travel near and far. Ask the Lord to sustain them and provide for their every need.
DAY 2: Pray for the Lord to use the teams to support and bless the local churches in each location. Pray for them to be quick to serve and encourage others while they are there. Ask God to strengthen local believers, and pray they would be encouraged to continue in ministry for years to come.
DAY 3: Pray for softened hearts and eager minds to hear and understand the gospel. Pray for the people each team will encounter as they serve. Pray for God to give them boldness to share the gospel when the opportunity arises.
DAY 4: Pray for God to give them wisdom as they engage in conversations. Ask the Lord to help them be slow to speak and quick to listen. Pray they would discern when the Spirit is working and hearts are being open to hear about Jesus.
DAY 5: Pray for the Lord to bless the work of the team while they are there. Pray they would be a blessing to everyone they encounter. Pray gospel seeds would be planted and for those seeds to bear fruit by the power of the Spirit.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to grow the faith of our students as they engage with local believers and missionaries. Ask God to work in their hearts and minds as they hear stories of God’s faithfulness and greatness. Pray that these trips will impact their lives for God’s glory in all nations.
