Praise God for calling us to follow Christ. Pray for us all to grow in our love and knowledge of Jesus as His disciples. Pray we will be bold witnesses to the world around us about the good news of the gospel.

This week we are praying for Lifeline Children’s Services (lifelinechild.org), a Christ-centered holistic orphan care ministry based here in Birmingham. Lifeline exists to equip the church and Christian families to manifest the gospel to orphans through a variety of ministries like adoption, foster care, global orphan care, and education services. They desire to see vulnerable children and their communities transformed by the gospel. We are also praying for Redemption Hill Church and Pastor Nick Murray.

DAY 1: Pray for the vulnerable children Lifeline serves. Pray for God to reveal Himself as a father to the fatherless to the estimated 10,000 children that become orphans daily across the world. Ask Him to give them hope and resiliency as they face trials. Pray they would choose to put their trust in Jesus Christ.

DAY 2: Pray for Lifeline’s Pregnancy Support Ministry. Pray for women to find these services and experience compassion from the staff and volunteers. Pray for God to give these women hopes for the babies in their wombs and wisdom in making difficult decisions. Pray for local churches to be ready to disciple and mentor expectant mothers.

DAY 3: Pray for Lifeline’s Foster Care and Family Restoration Ministry. Pray for God to raise up families who are mission-minded to welcome children into their homes for the short-term. Pray for Him to heal and transform children in foster care and families desiring reunification. Pray for local churches to be quick to support and minister to the children, foster families, and birth families.

DAY 4: Pray for Lifeline’s Adoption Programs. Pray for God to bring families who are rooted in the gospel to Lifeline and provide financially for them. Pray for Him to cultivate deep attachment within adoptive families. Pray for God to open doors to smooth adoption processes both locally and worldwide. Pray for local churches to seek to faithfully equip adoptive families and welcome children with joy.

DAY 5: Pray for Lifeline families waiting to be matched with children. Pray for God to comfort them as they wait to be matched. Pray they would continue to find refuge in God alone and wait with hope and expectancy for His good plans. Pray their churches would be quick to both grieve with them and rejoice with them in this season.

DAY 6: Pray for Lifeline’s staff and leadership. Pray for endurance and encouragement for the diligent social workers making adoptions possible. Pray the staff would seek to do good for the glory of God as they complete tasks as a team. Pray for the leadership to make decisions that honor God and steward the resources entrusted to them with wisdom.

This week we are praying for one of our partners, Compassion International. For more than 70 years Compassion has worked to release children from poverty in Jesus' name through Christ-centered, church-driven, and child-focused ministry. Through your faithfulness in giving, Brook Hills has partnered with Compassion to fund Child Development Centers in Togo, Africa.

DAY 1: Togo is rich in culture and beautiful, coconut tree-filled beaches. It’s also a place many impoverished families call home, and children in these communities suffer through the damaging consequences of poverty. Pray for God to continue to use the local church and Compassion to meet the great and urgent physical needs of children in Togo.

DAY 2: Ask God to bless the work of Compassion with the local church partners in developing and implementing survival programs. Through Compassion, Brook Hills supports 21 Child Development Centers in Togo. Through compassionate, holistic care, pregnant moms receive access to health services such as prenatal vitamins, medical checkups  and birth attendants. Through your generous giving to the Global Offering, Brook Hills has enabled Compassion to serve over 130 infants and mothers and babies in the past year.

DAY 3: Ask the Lord to raise up additional supporters to engage in sponsoring Togolese children with Compassion. Ask the Lord to provide for children through these sponsorships, and pray for the children who encounter the gospel through Compassion’s programs to come to faith in Christ as soon as they are able. DAY 4: Ask God to protect the programs and local partnerships with churches in Togo. 85% of the children who come through a Child Development Center in Togo thrive and do well in their schooling and studies. Pray for these children to continue to grow and thrive.

DAY 5: Pray for God to continue to work through Compassion in the Child Survival programs Brook Hills sponsors. In these programs caregivers look forward to monthly meetings at the church centers. Ask God to help them continue to learn practical ways to encourage their babies’ development, enjoy times of fellowship with other moms, and to refresh their spirits through His Word. Pray for God’s blessing on them as they practice new income-generating skills. 

DAY 6: A little over 11% of Togolese are evangelical Christians. Islam is growing, and there are a few unreached peoples in Togo. Pray for God to use His church and gospel partnerships like Compassion International to boldly proclaim the Good News to the Togolese people and for many to come to faith in Christ.
