Pray for the Church
Praise God for His good gift of rest. Pray for Him to convict us all to prioritize worship and discipleship together in our Sunday gatherings and ministries. Ask Him to additionally grant us all opportunities for service and witness.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for our upcoming Trauma Informed Care Training Workshop. Our Foster Care Ministry is hosting Sandra Flach, a mom, nonprofit co-founder, and certified facilitator of the FASCETS neuro-behavioral model, on February 21. The workshop seeks to equip foster and adoptive parents, church leaders, childcare workers, professional staff, and anyone interacting with children and teenagers in caring for those affected by alcohol and drug exposure in utero. We are also praying for Grace Life Church and Pastor Joel Frederick.
DAY 1: Pray for the children and teens affected by alcohol and drug exposure in utero in Birmingham. Pray for God to comfort them and guide them as many face varying levels of physical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. Pray they would receive early intervention and would grow up in a supportive environment that cares for them and responds to their needs. Pray they would trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
DAY 2: Pray for the upcoming workshop this weekend. Pray for God to use our space to cultivate understanding and love for children and teens affected. Ask Him to use our time together to initiate and foster relationships amongst our faith family and community members who attend.
DAY 3: Pray for the workshop’s speaker, Sandra Flach. Pray God would grant her safe and smooth travels to Birmingham. Pray for Him to guide her words and content to equip and encourage our faith family and community to serve children and teens in our city. Pray for God to continue to use her to equip the church to care for orphans.
DAY 4: Pray for those who attend the workshop. Pray for God to open their minds to receive knowledge and grant them understanding in application. Pray everyone who attends would feel welcomed and seen during their time on campus. Pray for the content from the workshop to extend into their professions and day to day lives.
DAY 5: Pray for foster and adoptive parents whose families are affected by alcohol and drug exposure. Pray for God to foster bonding and attachment within their families. Ask Him to give them wisdom to navigate interventions and therapeutic support options. Pray God would give them ongoing strength and resilience to support their children.
DAY 6: Pray for helping professionals who support children and teens affected by alcohol and drug exposure. Pray for God to continue to increase their understanding and provide needed resources to come alongside families. Pray God would refresh them each day to equip and support families.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for God to reveal Himself and remove the veil of spiritual darkness over Muslims around the world who will be participating in Ramadan for the next month. Ramadan is considered one of the holiest months of the year for Muslims when they fast from food and drink from sun up to sun down in an effort to draw closer to Allah and deepen their spiritual resolve.
DAY 1: Pray for the Holy Spirit to overcome the barriers of Islam among Muslims and for the gospel to be understood and accepted. Ask God to send laborers into the harvest among Muslims all over the world. Pray for God to open doors for Muslim-background-believers to proclaim the gospel to Muslims and for men and women to see the true God.
DAY 2: Ask God to give Muslims a spiritual hunger for truth, and pray they will discover true life in Christ. Pray for culturally sensitive outreach toward Muslims around the world and in the U.S. through friendship with believers. Pray for boldness and sensitivity for Muslim-background-believers who have mostly been ostracized from the community and sometimes from their families.
DAY 3: Pray that during Ramadan Muslim men and women will realize life is not about religion but about having a relationship with God through the living and reigning Messiah. And this is eternal life, that they will know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent (John 17:3). Ask God to call more people to proclaim the love of Christ among Muslims, here in the U.S. and around the world.
DAY 4: Pray for God to open up entry points and access to Muslim peoples through business and trade. Ask God to melt hearts of stone, and pray they would be soft and receptive to the gospel. Ask God to move and draw Muslims to Himself in dreams and visions of Christ during this Ramadan month. Pray for a mighty movement of God among Muslims in their time of devotion.
DAY 5: Pray for our workers living and working in the Middle East to be available and open during this Ramadan season to share the gospel with those who are seeking truth. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open the hearts of Muslims all over the world to the truth that only Jesus can bring salvation and eternal life.
DAY 6: Ask God to expose the sins of Muslims who are confident in their own righteousness (Eph. 5:11). Ask God to remove the barrier of the denial of the divinity of Jesus and invite the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of the Trinity as they hear the gospel message.
