Praise God for calling us to follow Christ, and ask Him to help us grow to be diligent and obedient disciples. Pray for God to lead us all to consecrate, prioritize, and protect our times of worship together, to focus our minds and hearts on Him, to find rest in Him, and to prepare us for the work He has ahead for us.

As part of our Orphan Care emphasis for February, we are praying for both Sav-A-Life in Shelby County and Sav-A-Life in Vestavia Hills as they seek to stand in the gap for potential orphans. Both are Christ-centered pregnancy ministries that provide free and confidential services in a compassionate and loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. They also provide a variety of supporting services to those who choose life for their baby. By offering these services, the centers seek to share the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed. We are also praying for Valleydale Church and Pastor Mac Brunson.

DAY 1: Pray for the clients facing an unplanned pregnancy in our city. Pray for God to intervene in the hearts of women who want to seek out an abortion. Ask Him to change their minds, and pray they would find a Sav-A-Life location near them. Pray they would feel the hope, love, and compassion of Christ through their interactions with volunteers and staff.

DAY 2: Pray for women and families who have experienced the pain of abortion. Pray for God to comfort them and give them peace. Pray they would not be afraid to reach out to a Sav-A-Life location for post-abortion medical and emotional care. Ask God to help them experience healing, redemption, and hope.

DAY 3: Pray for the mothers and fathers in the Sav-A-Life education programs. Pray for them to grow in their parenting skills. Pray their understanding of how to have Christ as the center of their families would deepen and their families would be strengthened.

DAY 4: Pray for the volunteers, staff, and medical team interacting with clients. Pray for God to give opportunities to share the hope of the gospel in every interaction with clients as they seek to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Pray the light of Christ would shine through their words and actions and for them to speak truth in love.

DAY 5: Pray for the moms, foster parents, and adoptive parents of children who are given life, but who will not be staying with their biological parents. Pray for comfort and healing for the biological parents, and wisdom and grace for the foster parents and adoptive parents as they navigate supporting the children who are in transition. Pray for the children to know Christ’s love and respond to the love from their new parents and families.

DAY 6: Pray for the Church in Birmingham to continue to support the Sav-A-Life ministries. Pray for God to raise up more women and men to volunteer, to pray diligently for families facing unplanning pregnancies, and to give graciously to provide care and resources for those families.

This week we are praying for our short-term trips and the teams participating in those trips. Between now and the end of March we will send out 12 different short-term teams throughout the US, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. 

DAY 1: Pray for God to use our short-term teams to build up missionaries and churches in love, and for God to raise up more laborers for the harvest from out of these teams.

DAY 2: Ask God to provide additional team members to participate in the trip to Europe in March. 

DAY 3: Pray for our trip participants as they prepare to go to several different countries and cultures. Ask God to help prepare their hearts to serve sacrificially and in a spirit of humility and flexibility.

DAY 4: Pray for travel mercies and good health as they make their way to each country. Ask the Lord to sustain them and provide for their every need.

DAY 5: Pray for those our teams will encounter and interact with during the trips. Ask God to prepare their hearts and minds to hear the Good News and for their hearts to be soft and receptive to the Truth.  Pray for God to give our teams boldness to share when opportunities arise.

DAY 6: Ask the Lord to grow the faith of our trip participants as they engage with local believers and our missionaries. Ask God to work in their hearts and minds as they hear stories of God’s faithfulness and greatness. Pray for their time in each context to impact their lives for God’s glory in all nations.
