Pray for the Church
Praise God for our student ministry and all of the 6th-12th-grade students in our faith family. Pray for our upcoming Collide Weekend. Pray for every student and leader to grow in their love of Christ and deepen their relationship with Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for marginalized people in the Birmingham area. In the Bible, marginalized people were those who were ignored and regarded as insignificant by society. Those vulnerable groups often included widows, orphans, foreigners, the oppressed and the poor. Just as the Gospels illustrate Jesus’ unwavering compassion and efforts to seek and save the lost, outcast, and oppressed; we are called to pray for and extend His mercy and support to the marginalized in our community today. We are also praying for Citizen’s Church and Pastor Justin Karl.
DAY 1: Pray for foster children in our city. Pray for the gospel to be displayed and proclaimed to each foster child. Ask God to heal their hearts and bring them a home, whether through reunification with their birth parents or through adoption. Pray for God to guard their hearts and guide their steps.
DAY 2: Pray for immigrants in our city. Pray for God to soften their hearts and to reveal Himself to them. Ask Him to grant them safety, and pray they would be welcomed with joy and hospitality by the church. Pray for God to heal their emotional and physical wounds and to cultivate deep hope rooted in Christ alone.
DAY 3: Pray for survivors and victims of assault and abuse in our city. Pray for God to heal their hearts and spirits and for them to tangibly experience God’s love. Ask God to give them peace and resilience to face what each day brings. Pray for HIm to bring about justice to the perpetrators and protection for victims of ongoing abuse.
DAY 4: Pray for people with disabilities in our city. Praise God for making all people in His image and loving them deeply. Pray for the Church to be a community that welcomes people with disabilities and seeks to make room for all to belong. Ask God to grant people with disabilities joy and to fill their lives with hope in Christ.
DAY 5: Pray for prisoners around our state. Pray God’s joy would be their strength as they face life behind bars. Ask Him to protect them from all harm and to sustain them by His Word. Pray true justice would be sought by lawmakers and prison staff and for prisoners to seek rehabilitation and transformation.
DAY 6: Pray for the poor in our city. Pray for God to meet their basic needs as well as their spiritual needs. Ask Him to soften the hearts of leaders and communities to be moved by compassion to establish fair policies and to end corruption. Pray for God to guide our hands and feet to show God’s love and mercy to the poor around us.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers Abigail and Mark P. serving in England.
DAY 1: Pray for the small team working together on international student outreach in the city of Coventry. Ask the Lord to draw students from all over the world to engage with the team and hear the Good News through their outreach efforts.
DAY 2: Pray for the students regularly attending Bible study who have not yet made a commitment to follow Jesus. Ask the Spirit to soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the gospel and to give them faith to follow Christ.
DAY 3: Pray for the students from India and Iraq that Abigail and her team have meaningful relationships with. Ask God to free them from the spiritual darkness they are in, and pray they will come to faith in the one true God.
DAY 4: Ask God to provide additional workers and volunteers to help with the ministry efforts in England. Pray for Him to grow their volunteer teams as quickly as their student numbers are growing!
DAY 5: Pray for the students planning to attend the Philip Project, where they learn how to teach and lead biblically and are equipped for church planting. Ask God to give these students boldness to participate and prepare them to take the Good News back to their home countries.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to provide Mark and Abigail all they need as a couple and as parents. Pray for the Lord to give them wisdom and discernment and for their marriage and parenting to reflect Christ to those around them.
