Praise God for the time we have each year to reflect upon Him fulfilling His promise to send the Redeemer, His Son, Jesus Christ. Ask Him to use us to share His good news with all those still lost in their sins. Pray for many to repent and put their faith in Jesus during this holiday season.

This week we are praying for our faith family and partner ministries engaging in Christmas outreach efforts across our city. The Christmas season provides unique opportunities for believers to celebrate the true gift of Christmas: eternal life made possible through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These opportunities exist both in annual events like Christmas stores and gatherings as well as in the daily gospel conversations believers engage in at home, in neighborhoods, at school, and at work across Birmingham. We are also praying for Mountaintop Community Church and Pastor Carter McInnis.

DAY 1: Pray for Oak Tree Ministries’ Christmas Store: a discounted shop for families in Marks Village that helps fund children’s programs in the upcoming year. Pray for gospel conversations and deepened relationships in the community. Pray for the families to know Jesus and love Jesus through Oak Tree Ministries’ faithful witness.

DAY 2: Pray for Iglesia La Conéxion’s Christmas Store: a free shop for Hispanic families in Hoover hosted by members of ILC. Pray families will feel loved while at the Christmas store. Pray for opportunities for church members to engage in gospel conversations as they host them. Pray for families in Hoover to connect and engage with the church beyond the Christmas store.

DAY 3: Pray for Cross Cultural Connections’ Christmas Outreach to refugee and immigrant families. Pray families would see and feel Jesus’ love for them. Pray for God to open doors to talk about the heart behind celebrating Christmas. Ask Him to soften the hearts of sojourners in our city, and pray they would consider the gift of Jesus.

DAY 4: Pray for the Lovelady Center’s Christmas Outreach. Pray for God to use their Christmas store to bless women and children. Pray the staff and volunteers would exalt Jesus in their interactions. Ask God to encourage the women through the Tablescapes Dinner and soften their hearts to receive the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

DAY 5: Pray for our Christmas Eve gatherings. Pray for our faith family to invite unbelieving neighbors, coworkers, internationals, and family members to attend. Pray for guests to witness the hope and joy that Christmas brings to those who trust in Christ.

DAY 6: Pray for our own faith family. Ask God to reveal ways for you, your family, and your small group to faithfully engage the lost, show hospitality to a neighbor, and serve those in need. Pray many across Birmingham will hear the gospel through our faithful witness, and receive forgiveness and eternal life through repentance and faith during this season.

This week we are praying for the spread of the gospel and the growth of the Church in Central Asia.

DAY 1: Pray for the gospel to continue to spread in Central Asia. Ask God to remove barriers to the Good News and for the Church to remain steadfast in the midst of persecution.

DAY 2: Pray for the churches and church leaders in Central Asia to be strengthened by grace and to mature in unity. Ask God to grow them in their walk with Christ and for them to lead their fellowships in humility and grace.

DAY 3: Pray for the gospel to be heard, understood, and believed upon through the bold witness of believers and long-termers in Central Asia. Ask God to protect believers and for disciples to be made all over Central Asia.

DAY 4: Pray for God’s Spirit to free us to give generously to the global work we are a part of through Global Offering. Ask God to bless and use our giving to support the Church and transform lives in Central Asia.

DAY 5: Pray for our giving to sustain sound, gospel work and encourage believers in Central Asia. Ask God to multiply our efforts and for more gospel-believing churches to be established.

DAY 6: Ask God to raise up workers from our faith family to go to Central Asia for the sake of God’s glory in that area of the world.
