Pray for the Church
Praise God for this season of Advent when we can remember, reflect upon, and look forward to celebrating Jesus’ first coming. Ask Him to help us avoid too many distractions over the next few weeks so we might focus our hearts and minds on Him. Pray for opportunities to share with others around us the joy we have in Christ. Pray for many to repent and believe the good news this holiday season.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Red Mountain Grace (redmountaingrace.com), a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing gracious housing to out-of-town patients and caregivers during extended medical stays in Birmingham. Red Mountain Grace was co-founded in 2013 by Brook Hills member, Jason Carroll. We are also praying for Red Mountain Church and Pastor Charles Johnson.
DAY 1: Pray for the 19 families currently being housed by Red Mountain Grace. Pray their apartments would be places of warm hospitality during their time in Birmingham and harbors of safety this holiday season.
DAY 2: Pray for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be revealed to those staying in housing provided by Red Mountain Grace. Ask God to use the words and work of staff and volunteers to transform the lives of guests. Pray for Him to comfort and grant peace through Jesus to guests facing difficult circumstances.
DAY 3: Pray for the social workers and medical professionals caring for the families and their loved ones residing with Red Mountain Grace. Ask God to encourage these professionals, root their hope in Jesus, and give them wisdom for how to best care for their patients and loved ones.
DAY 4: Pray for God to strengthen and equip the staff and volunteers at Red Mountain Grace to serve the sick and their families with steadfastness. Pray for the leadership of Red Mountain Grace to seek God in humility for all guidance, wisdom, and discernment as they lead the organization and serve families staying in Birmingham.
DAY 5: Pray for relief from financial stress for guests with Red Mountain Grace. Ask God to provide through insurance covering procedures needed. Pray time away from work would not stand as a barrier to individuals and families receiving care.
DAY 6: Praise God for those who faithfully support Red Mountain Grace, both spiritually and financially. Ask God to continue to raise up new donors, board members, and volunteers who will carry out the mission to love visitors coming to Birmingham who are facing medical crises.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for God to work through our church and through the Global Offering for His glory in 2026. Last year you gave generously and sacrificially, above and beyond your tithes and offerings, and we saw God do incredible things! We want to see God do above and beyond anything we could ask or imagine in 2026 for His glory in all nations!
DAY 1: Thank God for his provision through the giving of our faith family for the spread of the gospel in 2025. Ask God to help us grow in faithfulness as we cheerfully give above and beyond our tithes and offerings to make His name known to those who haven’t heard.
DAY 2: Ask God to provide for church planting efforts we support and future church planting opportunities in many places around the world. Ask God to continue to lead us and guide us, particularly in hard to reach places where there is no local church.
DAY 3: Pray for God to continue to provide pastoral training for pastors in difficult areas of the world where biblical training is not available. Ask God to continue to enable pastors to continue to grow in wisdom and knowledge as they study and preach the Word. Pray the Church will continue to grow and proclaim the gospel in boldness.
DAY 4: Thank God for His provision in Bible translating efforts like the Kingdom Storybook Bible that was translated into Thai last year. Pray for God to continue to provide for additional translations of Bible resources like the Kingdom Storybook Bible in other areas around the world.
DAY 5: Over this last year we have seen God do amazing things through business men and women for the sake of the nations. Ask God to continue to work through business partnerships with men and women in our faith family as they seek to use their businesses to spread the gospel all over the world.
DAY 6: Thank God for the evidence of His grace and mercy through our faith family in supporting short-term, mid-term, and long-term efforts through the Global offering. Ask God to continue to help us give sacrificially so we can continue to send and support those who are going to the nations.
