Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness toward us. Ask Him to grant us wisdom for ourselves but also to help us as we counsel one another. Pray for godly courage to take appropriate risks for the sake of the gospel and the growth of God’s kingdom.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Forged Birmingham (forgedbhm.org), a leadership foundation that seeks to equip and empower leaders to impact the city of Birmingham with the transformative love of Christ for the flourishing of the city. Their approach is accomplished through discipling, developing, and deploying the next generation of urban leaders who are Christ-centered and city-centric. We are also praying for Harvest Community Church and Pastor Michael Jones.
DAY 1: Pray for the urban leaders who recently completed the foundation’s Bridges and Beacons Emerging Leaders Cohort. Pray they will be effective leaders for the cause of Christ as they engage across Birmingham. Pray they would continue to daily grow in their love for Christ and that they would be faithful in their ministry.
DAY 2: Pray for the upcoming group of leaders who will go through the next Bridges and Beacons Emerging Leaders Cohort. Pray for the foundation’s leadership as they recruit the new cohort of either current leaders or those discerning a call to ministry. Pray for God to open the hearts of leaders who seek to follow Christ in good faith for the flourishing of the city.
DAY 3: Pray for the urban teenagers Forged Birmingham will serve in the next year as they launch a Mentoring Youth for Leadership program. Pray for God to open the hearts of the youth to their mentors and the truth of the gospel. Pray they would know how deeply loved they are both by God and their mentors. Pray this program would produce lasting change in the lives of adolescents, transforming their hearts and lives early for a lifetime of loving God and serving others.
DAY 4: Pray for the incoming Forged Fellows of 2026. Pray for God to encourage this group and equip them for long-term gospel ministry. Pray they would daily seek to delight in God and to serve the city as faithful ministers for years to come.
DAY 5: Pray for Danny Brister, CEO, as he seeks to lead and expand the work of Forged Birmingham as they seek to faithfully serve those who serve others. Pray for God to grant them strength, deepen their faith, and show them favor as they come alongside gospel-transformed leaders who touch every sector of our city.
DAY 6: Pray for Birmingham and each of the sectors in which these leaders interact. Pray for God to open the hearts, eyes, and ears of those living in these areas to the good news of Jesus Christ. Ask God to grant leaders who have gone through Forged Birmingham’s programs and cohorts’ wisdom and discernment to engage people with humility, grace, and endurance. Pray for continued gospel transformation in urban areas across Birmingham.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long termers, R and B, and their children serving in the Middle East.
DAY 1: Pray for R and B as they serve in leadership roles with their sending agency. Ask God to give them strength, wisdom, and humility as they lead and mobilize teams.
DAY 2: Pray for this family as they work to reach the Baloch people with this gospel. Praise God for the growth in this effort! Ask the Lord to continue to remove barriers to the gospel with this people group and that a vibrant and healthy church would be born.
DAY 3: Ask God to protect and guard new Balochi believers that come to faith. Ask God to protect their faith and to give them courage to follow Christ, even when they face persecution.
DAY 4: Pray for longevity and endurance for R and B and their team. Pray for fresh zeal and insight into what their people need. Pray for fresh boldness and courage to make the gospel known.
DAY 5: Pray for fresh energy to keep doing what they need to do to reach the Baloch. Pray for those who have believed will awaken to the opportunity and need among their people.
DAY 6: Pray for God to guard and protect the holiness of R and B in the midst of hard, and sometimes frustrating work. Ask God to come in fresh grace and power to save the Baloch people.
