Pray for the Church
Praise God for coming to us when we were lost in our sins and bringing us home to Him. Ask Him to use us to make known to others the love of God and His desire to save them. Pray for Him to bring many to join our faith family.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (alabamachild.org). ABCH strives to protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services such as homes for children, Family Care Homes for homeless mothers and their children, foster care recruitment and training, professional counseling for families and children, camps and events for foster families, and seminars on child and family issues. We are also praying for Lakeside Baptist Church and Pastor Greg Corbin.
DAY 1: Pray for the foster parents and foster children. Pray for God to replenish parents with daily love, strength, and endurance. Pray for the salvation of the children in foster care and their holistic healing and spiritual development.
DAY 2: Pray for the biological parents of the foster children. ABCH’s goal is to see as many families reunified as possible. Pray the biological families would experience love from Christians in a way they never have before, and pray for God to use that experience to draw them to Himself and transform them. Pray this transformation would allow for reunification to be possible for these families.
DAY 3: Pray for the moms and children in Family Care Homes who face and experience many difficult situations. Pray for Christ to draw both moms and children to Himself through salvation. Ask God to give leaders in this ministry wisdom and discernment in navigating how to care well for these families.
DAY 4: Pray for the many resources being invested in ABCH statewide. Pray for God to provide for the non-cash needs of ABCH, such as new diapers, strollers, and clothes that meet physical needs of foster families. Ask God to also provide financially for ABCH and to meet the needs of ABCH through the donations of individuals, businesses, and churches.
DAY 5: Pray for the social workers who labor alongside each foster family. Pray for God to fill them with hope and wisdom when navigating difficult family situations. Ask Him to renew their strength and courage daily and protect them from discouragement and burnout.
DAY 6: Pray for the churches serving foster families to be a supportive and welcoming environment for families to be encouraged and for children to feel safe and loved.
Pray for the World
Today, November 2, is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. This week we will be praying for our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted or may face persecution around the world. There are many Christians who live in places where following Jesus comes at a great cost. Some face discrimination, some are ostracized from their families, and others can face death.
DAY 1: Pray for comfort for families who have lost loved ones or been displaced due to persecution. Ask God to move in the hearts of leaders to uphold justice and protect Christian communities.
DAY 2: Pray persecuted believers will remain steadfast, bearing witness to Christ even in danger. Ask God to increase their faith and trust in Him.
DAY 3: Ask God to strengthen pastors and house church leaders who are being persecuted. Pray they would remain faithful, and ask the Lord to protect them. Ask God to grow their churches in faith and boldness.
DAY 4: Pray for the Lord to comfort those facing family rejection and social isolation. Pray other believers would show love and be an encouragement to those who are facing rejection. Ask God to help them to be steadfast in their faith.
DAY 5: Pray for the continued spread of the gospel through the Church, digital media, dreams, and courageous personal witness in areas that are hostile to the gospel.
DAY 6: Pray for more workers who would be willing to go to hard places, plant churches, and spread the gospel. Ask God to draw more people to the work and provide ways to live and serve in areas hostile to the gospel.
