Pray for the Church
Praise God for the example of service offered to us through Christ and for calling us to a life of service to Him and others. Ask Him to develop humility within each of us. Pray we will all see the role we have to play in reaching out to others and welcoming them into the family of God.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Grace House Ministries (grace-house.org). For over 30 years, Grace House Ministries has been providing stable, Christian homes for Alabama girls in foster care on their residential campus in Fairfield. Their approach seeks to end cycles of poverty and abuse by educating, equipping, and empowering them to become mature, godly women. We are also praying for Shades Valley Community Church and Pastor Jonathan Haefs.
DAY 1: Pray for each girl who comes to Grace House to experience the love of Jesus Christ in a tangible way and to come into an authentic and intimate relationship with the Lord.
DAY 2: Pray that every girl would leave Grace House having been equipped spiritually, academically, relationally, and professionally to break generational cycles of poverty and abuse and to create transformational change in their lives, families, and communities.
DAY 3: Pray that the Lord would hand pick every staff member to continue to fulfill the mission of Grace House and that they would have not only a heart for God, but for the girls they serve each day.
DAY 4: Pray for every current staff member to be led daily by the Holy Spirit and to operate in wisdom and truth according to the Word of God. Pray that the Lord would continually renew and refresh the spirits of the staff members at Grace House.
DAY 5: Pray that God would continue to open doors for Grace House to expand to serve more girls through the services they provide and that they would continue to build a safe home for girls in foster care with excellence and integrity.
DAY 6: Pray for the Lord to continue to give Grace House leadership vision and discernment for how to serve the city of Fairfield so that they might faithfully communicate the Gospel through their words and deeds to those around them.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for R and K, two of our long-termers working in the Middle East. Over the last several years they have been training and working toward moving to another country with a hard-to-reach people group. They are in the process of transitioning to that work.
DAY 1: Pray for R and K as they close out their time in their current city. Ask God to give them opportunities to proclaim Christ to their lost friends before they leave.
DAY 2: Ask God to bless their local church where they have been members. Pray for this church to continue to be bold in their witness to the many Catholic Christians, cultural Christians, and Muslims who live in their city. Pray for God to begin to prepare the hearts of those who live in their new city to receive the Good News and for there eventually to be a healthy church there.
DAY 3: Pray R and K would remain faithful in this season of transition. Ask God to give them endurance and to sustain them during this season of moving from one country to the next.
DAY 4: Ask God to bless and protect their marriage, and pray they would love and serve one another sacrificially.
DAY 5: R and K will be coming to the U.S. later this year before they leave for their new country. Pray for their time with family and friends to be fruitful and for them to invest well in those relationships.
DAY 6: Pray for perseverance, for R and K to be faithful and longsuffering in the hard work of planting a church in a country resistant to the gospel. Ask God to soften hearts, and pray for seeds of faith to be planted in fertile soil that will bear much fruit!
