Praise God for being our good Shepherd. Ask Him to continue to grow your faith and trust in Him. Pray for His help to endure whatever trouble you are facing. Pray for God to bring about His goodness and mercy in and through your life. 

This week we are praying for Discovery Clubs (discoveryclubs.org), a ministry of the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association. Discovery Clubs are weekly after-school Bible clubs that meet in 29 public elementary schools across the greater Birmingham area and surrounding counties. They offer Bible study, memory verse activities and other fun inspirational activities to help children know about the love of Christ. Discovery Clubs teach the gospel to children while also building biblical foundations for life, developing character, and changing families. We are also praying for Chelsea Community Church and Pastor Michael Abrams.

DAY 1: Pray the extraordinary growth of Discovery Clubs will be supported with new leaders, more mentors, and more financial resources. Pray for consistent volunteers who can weekly build relationships with children so they can learn to trust them and the words of Jesus they teach.

DAY 2: Pray for the schools in which they are meeting to be richly blessed by Discovery Clubs’ presence. Pray for the school supervisors that oversee the club meeting at each school. Pray for the love of Christ to shine through them and for God to give them wisdom as they walk through hard places with their students and volunteers.

DAY 3: Pray for the students Discovery Clubs are reaching and will reach this upcoming school year. Pray for their salvation and safety and peace for each student and their families. Pray that as they attend DC, they will know that Jesus loves them deeply and that the volunteers do too in His Name!

DAY 4: Pray for current volunteers and mentors and for new volunteers and mentors to come to Discovery Clubs this Fall. Pray for their protection and provision while doing the work of Christ.

DAY 5: Pray for Discovery Clubs’ current church partners that are supporting DC. Pray for the Lord to bless them for their generosity. Pray for many other churches to join in partnership with Discovery Clubs.

DAY 6: Pray for financial provision for Discovery Clubs as they continue their mission to reach

unchurched elementary age children in public elementary schools. It costs over $5,000 per school to host the program. Pray for God’s blessings on all who have and will donate to help Discovery Clubs share the love of Christ with children across the city

This week we are praying for our long-termers serving North Africans.

DAY 1:  Pray for our long-termers who have endured persecution and significant setbacks in ministry and the business that was enabling them to engage with their people group. Ask the Lord to grant them endurance and deepen their faith and trust in Him as they seek viable options for the business.

DAY 2: Ask God to give them hope and peace in the midst of great disappointment and significant changes. Pray their hope and trust will be in the Lord and in His goodness and faithfulness as they work to reestablish business and ministry.

DAY 3: Ask the Lord to provide their needs as they establish their business in another context. Ask the Lord to grow the business again and provide opportunities to share the Good News through this new context.

DAY 4: Pray for open doors for believers to be able to engage with diaspora communities through their business. Ask the Lord to grant their leadership wisdom and discernment as they work to reestablish operations. 

DAY 5: Ask the Lord to guide them to relationships that would help them find strategic sales partners. Pray for the Lord to connect them to fruitful contacts that will be profitable for the Kingdom and for the business.

DAY 6: Due to business needs, our long-termers had to relocate. Pray for the Lord to help them settle into healthy family rhythms. Ask Him to bless their children and marriage, to give them peace, and to continue to grow their faith and love for the Lord.
