PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH

Praise God for the gift of His Spirit. Ask Him to help us all grow in our reliance upon the Spirit’s presence and power in our lives. Pray for the Spirit to empower us all to edify one another to grow Christ’s church and kingdom.

PRAY FOR OUR CITY

Empowered to Conquer (ETC) is a Christian non-profit dedicated to empowering high school students in underserved communities to discover their full potential. Since inception in 2009, ETC has been grounded in a simple vision-- for every student to have the skills and support they need to live an empowered life. To us, an empowered life is one where students discover their unique gifts and have access to training, guidance, and opportunities to be who God has called them to become- excelling spiritually, academically, and socially. ETC serves Woodlawn High School and other schools. (empoweredtoconquer.org). We are also praying for Church of the Highlands and Pastor Mark Pettus.

DAY 1: Please pray that God would meet the 750 students we plan to serve this year in their career planning, emotional growth, and development of their relationship with Him.

DAY 2: We have several opportunities to expand our footprint this year and we want to yield to the Lord’s voice in what to say “yes” and what to say “no” to do so that we grow at the pace that pleases Him. Please pray for discernment and wisdom in this area.

DAY 3: We plan to hire two new employees this Fall. Please pray for God to send the people who will intentionally have the heart and skill set for the mission He wants fulfilled in this next season.

DAY 4: Please pray that we reach and exceed our $350,000 fundraising goal for this year’s budget by June 30,2025. To grow our staff to what is necessary, it will require a $112,000 increase in our budget. We have made great progress but still have $143,000 to raise.

DAY 5: Please pray for our Board of Directors, Board of Influence, and other Faith Alliance churches as they prayerfully lead us and partner with us to fulfill our mission.

DAY 6: As we plan over the summer, please pray that God would direct us as we evaluate programs and prepare to launch this Fall.

PRAY FOR OUR WORLD

This week we are praying for our marketplace professionals, Chad and Abby, serving in SE Asia. Islam is the official religion where they live. Only 9.1% of the population are Christian. There is freedom of religion, but there are limitations and restrictions on sharing with Muslims.

DAY 1: Chad and Abby work among some of the world’s largest unreached groups. Pray for the church to grow and for the local believers to be bold to share their faith in Christ with those who haven’t been exposed to the gospel. Pray for the Muslims in their city, pray for more to hear the good news, repent of their sins, and turn to Christ for salvation.

DAY 2: Chad and Abby work in a school in their community. Pray for the students they work with. Pray for the Holy Spirit to use their staff to share and display Christ through their educational experience. Pray for their unreached co-workers from Malaysia, Nepal, and Indonesia, for them to be faithful to engage them with the good news daily through word and deed.

DAY 3:  Ask the Lord to help Chad and Abby faithfully weave gospel threads in their relationships. Pray for their friend Jessy, for her to know the love of God in Jesus Christ. Pray for their majority believing friends, for them to sense God's presence, hold fast to His Word, and be bold in sharing the good news with others.

DAY 4: Ask the Lord to grow and strengthen the local church where Chad and Abby are members. Pray for them to have gospel unity amid cultural and ethnic diversity and for them to consistently and boldly proclaim the good news in their community. Pray for the elders, for them to faithfully teach the Scriptures to edify, encourage, and equip the members.

DAY 5: Praise the Lord for their oldest daughter officially receiving U.S. citizenship after a nearly four-year process and for the healthy birth of their youngest daughter. Pray for the girls as they transition into new schools in August. Ask God to give wisdom and discernment to Chad and Abby, for them to abide in Christ as they parent and disciple their daughters. 

DAY 6: Pray for Chad and Abby’s marriage to be filled with unity, joy, and love. Ask God to give them healthy rhythms of work, ministry, and togetherness in the upcoming season, for them to be guided by the Spirit in every decision and commitment they make.
