This Week
Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for His design for motherhood. Pray all of our mothers will embrace their role and responsibility in preparing their children for the lives to which God has called them. Pray for women who desire to have children but have found that to be a struggle to find comfort in God and His plan for them. Pray for mothers whose children have passed away to find peace in God. Pray for women throughout our faith family who are spiritual mothers to so many to continue in making disciples both here and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for Christ Health Center (christhealthcenter.org), a group of health clinics in Woodlawn and Center Point that demonstrate the love and power of Jesus Christ by providing excellent, affordable healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured while participating in local community development. Christ Health Center was started in partnership with Church of the Highlands to see the sick made well and the well made whole. Christ Health gives patients access to the very best in primary care, mental health care, dental services and professional counseling as well as medication therapy management through an on-site pharmacy. They serve some of our Oliver and refugee families. We are also praying for Church of the Highlands and Pastor Mark Pettus.
DAY 1: Pray for the Christ Health Center patients. The majority of their patients are living below the poverty line, have experienced trauma, and have a variety of unmet needs. Pray Christ Health Center would be a safe place for them to seek help. Pray for them to sense the love of Jesus and understand the gospel.
DAY 2: Pray for the eight new Family Medicine residents starting at Christ Health Center this June. Pray the residents will leave their three years of service with Christ Health excited and called to use medicine as a tool to advance God’s Kingdom.
DAY 3: Pray for the staff and volunteers, for their unity and for God to add the right people at the right time to keep the heart of the work pure. Pray the team would enjoy the labor God has called them to and not grow weary in doing good.
DAY 4: Pray for Christ Health Center’s participation in community development. Pray for healthy relationships with the local governments, schools, and other community partners. Pray for upcoming expansion opportunities throughout the city.
DAY 5: Pray for Christ Health’s OB program to be a place where every mother feels protected, loved, and cared for. Pray for God to continue to use Christ Health Center to provide affordable and quality healthcare to people who need it most.
DAY 6: Pray for the Christ Health Center board and leaders. Pray they would lead Christ Health Center forward in unity and in an effort honoring and pleasing to God.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers in Central Asia.
DAY 1: Pray for our long-termers to first and foremost seek Christ daily and for them to abide in the Word and be refreshed and strengthened by God’s spirit.
DAY 2: Praise God for the people of peace with whom our long termers have shared the gospel. Pray for “Michael” who quickly professed faith in Jesus but is still learning what complete trust looks like in his life. Pray for the men on their team as they meet with “Ernie” almost weekly and have regular opportunities to share with him.
DAY 3: Pray for “Whitney” who has opened up to the women on their team recently about her struggles against deep depression and dark thoughts. Pray Jesus would shine bright to her in this darkness. Pray they would have wisdom as to how to help and support her.
DAY 4: “Michael’s” wife has been wanting to visit their church. Pray she would be able to attend and for God to soften her heart. Praise God for the maturity and steadiness He’s given to a new believer at their church, “Kyle.” Pray he would continue to grow in his faith.
DAY 5: Pray for “J” and “R,” for God to sustain these men as they lead, shepherd, and teach their small church family.
DAY 6: Pray for our long-termers and their continued growth in language and cultural fluency. They have recently introduced baby #3. Pray for them as they navigate the usual challenges of raising young children. Pray for God to work in their children’s hearts toward faith, and for their example to encourage humility and wisdom in them.
