Pray for the Church
Praise God for the peace He makes available to us. Ask Him to help us all dwell on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and praiseworthy.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the families of Oliver Elementary School and the Love Oliver Campaign that launches today. Through Love Oliver, Brook Hills joins the families and partners of Oliver Elementary to address the economic, academic, spiritual, and social barriers they face while pointing everyone to the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Find out how you can “Love Oliver” at brookhills.org/loveoliver. We are also praying for The Church at Liberty Park and Pastor Randy Overstreet.
DAY 1: Oliver families are up against a host of economic, academic, and spiritual hurdles. Pray for God to enable us to minister to their tangible needs while pointing them to the redemptive work and hope of Jesus Christ. Pray God would call other Christ-followers to serve them in Jesus’ name.
DAY 2: Pray for volunteers serving at Oliver Elementary School from churches. Pray for all of the ministries and organizations connecting these volunteers and mentors to students - Oak Tree Ministries, Discovery Clubs, Better Choices for Success Mentoring, NorthStar Soccer, STAIR tutoring, and Brook Hills. Ask God to lead the mentors and other volunteers serving in these roles to exemplify the unconditional, selfless love of Christ.
DAY 3: Pray for God to save and raise up a generation of young disciples, especially through the work of Oak Tree Ministries, which has been serving the community there for ten years. Pray they would be led by the Spirit for the spread of shalom in Marks Village.
DAY 4: Pray for the nine teenage young men walking through Oak Tree’s YouLead mentoring program this semester. Pray they will become godly young men influencing their peers and the community to be faithful followers of Jesus as they enjoy God’s good design for their lives.
DAY 5: Pray for the teachers and administration at Oliver Elementary School. Pray for God to use their gifts and talents to educate, encourage, and grow young minds. Pray that, through their examples of love and kindness, many students and families would see the love of Christ.
DAY 6: Pray for the Love Oliver campaign as we aim to raise $40,000 by Monday, June 16 to relieve the financial burden of Oliver families preparing for school and so we can support several school projects.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for John and Molly serving in the MIddle East as marketplace professionals to the nations.
DAY 1: Please pray for John and Molly to have a bold and broken heart for their friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Pray they would have wisdom in how to share the good news in a way their friends will feel loved and can understand.
DAY 2: Recent political and social shifts could potentially open doors for gospel proclamation in their city. Pray their city will become a launch pad for the gospel to the Muslim world.
DAY 3: Please pray for the elders in their local fellowship to have wisdom to lead their growing gathering. John and Molly are also prayerfullyconsidering leading a church plant from their existing gathering. Please pray for wisdom as they move forward in this process and for God to be glorified
DAY 4: Pray for the Lord to raise up a bold, vibrant, and Spirit-filled church of local believers from their heavily Muslim context.
DAY 5: Please pray for John and Molly as they shepherd the hearts of their kids so they grow in their understanding of the Word and God’s love for them by God’s grace. As they get older, ask God to give them wisdom in how to help their kids process living in a Muslim context.
DAY 6: Pray for John and Molly’s marriage as they sacrificially look to serve each other well and prioritize God's Word over everything else.
