Pray for the Church
Praise God for hearing and answering our prayers. Ask Him to develop us into people of prayer bringing all of our concerns and requests to Him. Pray for us all to find comfort and rest in the peace He provides us despite our circumstances.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Awaken (awakenrecovery.com), a Gospel-based recovery ministry dedicated to helping people live the lives they were created to live free from the destructive effects of sexual brokenness. One of Awaken’s key desires is to establish and strengthen relationships with local churches to help them better understand and respond to these issues within their congregations through support groups and one on one encouragement. We are also praying for Iron City Church and Pastor Isaac Adams.
DAY 1: Praise God for the increasing number of men and women walking through sexual brokenness who have connected with Awaken and are receiving help and support for their recovery. Pray for the 300 people who connect each week through their 20+ recovery meetings in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and online.
DAY 2: Praise God for increasing opportunities they have to connect with and support ministry leaders as they train their staff to more graciously and effectively care for people struggling with unwanted or addictive sexual behaviors and sexual betrayal trauma.
DAY 3: Pray for spiritual and emotional protection for their team―Greg and Stacey Oliver, Bobby West, and Katie Pederson―as they care for and support people walking through the darkest seasons of their lives.
DAY 4: Pray for their 3rd Annual Awaken Recovery Run, taking place Saturday, April 19. The race is their single largest fundraising event of the year. Pray many will sign up at awakenrecovery.com/race to participate, and for the event to help more people know about the help Awaken provides for our community.
DAY 5: Pray for more donors to financially partner with Awaken in their work. Each new area of growth represents great things God is doing but also requires additional financial resources. Pray they will wisely steward all the resources God provides.
DAY 6: Pray for God to use their podcast, What We Really Want: Conversations About Connection (whatwereallywant.show) to reach many people who would otherwise not know about Awaken and the help they offer.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the spread of the gospel among the Baloch people.
DAY 1: Most Baloch are Muslims. They pray five times a day and seek a god who is silent and unreachable. Most Baloch people will die having never heard the gospel. Ask God to work in miraculous ways to open the eyes of the Baloch with the truth of the gospel. Pray for God to make a way for the Baloch to hear and respond to the only savior, Jesus Christ.
DAY 2: Pray for the Balochi people who have been at the mercy of a decades-long insurgency by radical extremists. There have been deadly attacks recently. Ask the Lord to bring peace to the Balochi people and that somehow he will use this conflict to bring more people to Him.
DAY 3: There are a few believers among the Baloch. Many who come to faith are very guarded and hidden in order to escape persecution. Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and boldness. Pray they would find other believers and workers who can encourage them to grow in their faith.
DAY 4: Ask God to continue to draw Balochi people to Him in unconventional ways. Pray for workers engaging with Baloch who are seeking and are open to the gospel. Ask the Spirit to work in their hearts and minds as they weigh the costs. Help them to see the greater, eternal treasure of following Jesus.
DAY 5: Pray for God to continue to provide the resources needed to finish translating the Bible into Balochi. Ask God to give wisdom to those translating the Bible, and pray other dialects can be translated so all of the Baloch will have access to God’s Word.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to call willing workers to go to the Baloch. Pray workers will find people of peace and relationships will grow and flourish. Pray for those relationships to develop into discipleship and for a thriving, healthy Balochi church to be born.
