Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of one another as brothers and sisters in God's family. Pray for us all to stand firm in the faith together. Pray we will continuously rejoice in all things.
Pray for the City
In honor of April being 2nd Chances Month, this week we are praying for Prison Fellowship, a Christian ministry begun by Chuck Colson after his conversion in prison, that aims to see all who are affected by crime and incarceration reconciled to God, their families, and their communities. They provide Biblical instruction and support in prisons throughout the US, care for families affected by crime, and advocate for equal justice for all and second chances for the formerly incarcerated. We are also praying for Brook Hills member, Jeremy Miller, who leads out in these efforts throughout our state as Alabama’s Prison Fellowship Prison Ministry Manager. We are also praying for Dawson Family of Faith and Pastor David Eldridge.
Day 1: Pray for those who have been recently released from prison and are seeking a second chance in society. Pray for the unlocking of second chances for all those with a criminal record who have paid their debt to society. Pray many will find jobs at the Second Chances Job Fair at Boutwell Auditorium on April 15.
Day 2: Pray for the Prison Fellowship Academies inside of St. Clair Correctional, Bibb Correctional, Donaldson Correctional, Elmore Correctional, Bullock Correctional, Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women, Alabama Therapeutic Educational Facility and Limestone Correctional. Pray for transformed lives and renewed minds for the 330 men and 35 women in these Academies that meet 2-3 times a week studying God’s Word.
Day 3: Pray for Prison Fellowships Easter Hope Events coming up this month. Pray for the incarcerated men who will hopefully be able to attend these evangelistic services. Pray that their hearts would be open to the Gospel.
Day 4: Pray for Prison Fellowships Angel Tree Families across the State of Alabama. Pray that their lives would be impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that these children of incarcerated parents would not follow in the path of their parents but seek to live crime-free God honoring lives.
Day 5: Pray for Prison Fellowship’s Alabama Prison Ministry Manager, Jeremy Miller as he provides leadership to all these programs and events in the State. Pray for wisdom, strength and discernment as he interacts with the incarcerated, volunteers and state officials daily.
Day 6: Pray for the physical, mental, and spiritual health and the well-being of those who are incarcerated in our state’s prison system and for victims of crimes. Pray for safety in our prisons/jails during these times of stress from lockdown and reduced security staff.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers, Josh and Rachel, serving in the Desert City.
Day 1: Pray for Josh and Rachel and the business they are establishing.. The Lord has provided opportunities and is blessing their efforts in establishing a platform for sharing the gospel. Ask God to give them wisdom and discernment in business decisions.
Day 2: Ask God to give Josh and Rachel strength and guidance as they are working through intensely busy days. Pray that they would guard and prioritize time in the Word and prayer.
Day 3: Pray that the Lord would help Josh and Rachel develop deeper, life giving business relationships. Pray that God’s love would be evident in them and others would be drawn to them because of the way they love others and conduct business.
Day 4: Ask God to give them wisdom and discernment in how to grow their business so that they can provide jobs and avenues for others to come and join the work in the Desert City.
Day 5: Pray for the local fellowship where Josh and Rachel are members. Ask the Lord to bless, grow, and strengthen the membership and bind them together in unity.
Day 6: Josh and Rachel are in the adoption process. Pray for their family as they work and wait for the child they will adopt. Ask the Lord to guard their marriage and grow their faith and trust Him in the waiting.
