Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness and provision in our lives. Ask Him to continue to grow our cheerful generosity. Pray for God to multiply our offerings to accomplish the ministry He desires to see in and through us as a faith family.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brook Hills students of all ages who have been returning to school over the past few weeks. We also want to pray for their parents, teachers, administrators, mentors, and spiritual leaders as they work to equip their students to reach their full potential and enjoy God’s good design for their lives. We want to especially praise God for the many students and volunteers that participated in Collide this weekend! We are also praying for Shades Mountain Baptist Church and Pastor George Wright.
DAY 1: Pray for our middle and high school students that participated in Collide this past weekend. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to stir their hearts and guide their minds as they move back into classes this new year.
DAY 2: Pray for all Brook Hills students to continue to know, grow, and trust in Christ this year. Pray for them to grow in knowledge, maturity, and ability as they prepare themselves to achieve God’s purposes for their lives.
DAY 3: Pray for our students to take advantage of opportunities to influence friends, classmates, and school staff to know and grow in Christ. Pray for them to be bold in displaying and declaring the gospel to others.
DAY 4: Pray for all teachers and administrators to have wisdom, skill, sensitivity, patience, and endurance as they help students learn and grow. Pray for them to display the love of Christ as they teach and lead in our schools and homeschools.
DAY 5: Pray for the right amount of rest for students and staff. Pray for students and staff to grow in self-discipline.
DAY 6: Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year. Pray for them to be able to guide them toward strong faith in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for Jared and Elizabeth T. They serve, with their two sons in Central Asia. They’ve recently renewed their visa and are looking expectantly forward to the coming year as they continue to live and serve among this unreached people group.
DAY 1: Jared and Elizabeth are currently studying language. Pray they would be motivated by grace to learn the heart language of the people. Pray they would humble themselves as they study and as they learn about culture and language from their neighbors and friends. Pray for opportunities with neighbors and contacts to have hearts softened to hear the gospel. Pray for Jared and Elizabeth to be bold witnesses and to love others like Jesus.
DAY 2: Pray for Jared as he searches for a job that will provide them with a long term visa in order to be able to stay in the country. Pray he will find something soon that will be a good fit and a blessing to him and their family. Pray for God to be glorified in the job search and in Jared’s eventual job.
DAY 3: Pray for their team to be bonded in unity. Pray for them to encourage one another and point each other to Christ as they meet together. Pray for the Father to send more workers into the harvest.
DAY 4: They have recently started a house church with other believers. Pray for this church to be a shining city on a hill in a dark place. Pray for them to be welcoming to others that may want to join them. Pray for the gospel to go forth, clearly and effectively, from their new church.
DAY 5: Pray for their boys to grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. Pray their hearts would be softened by the gospel and for them to grow in grace.
DAY 6: Pray for Jared and Elizabeth’s marriage to be a light in their community. Let the way they love and serve each other point to Christ. Pray they would be daily refreshed by their time in the Word and in prayer. Pray for a deeper connection to the Father and to each other.
