Praise God for calling and commanding each of us to join Him on His mission to make disciples of all nations. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower each of us with gifts to use to fulfill this mission. Pray our study of the Word and our Worship together will continually fuel our mission. Pray we will all strive to make disciples wherever we are. Pray for those we have sent out from among us to go and make disciples in other parts of the world. Ask God to continue to set apart members of our faith family for specific roles in His mission around the world. Pray for how you might be more intentional in your support of others from Brook Hills on mission through both prayer and giving.

This week we are praying for Oak Tree Ministries (oaktreeministries.org), a ministry that partners with The Church at Brook Hills to build disciple- making relationships, to bring relief and rehabilitation, and to restore families in Marks Village to enjoy God’s good design for their lives. The ministry is rooted in Isaiah 61 which Jesus quoted in Luke 4 as a summary of His mission and ministry. The verses of Isaiah 61 will guide our prayer for Oak Tree Ministries this week. We are also praying for Household of Faith Church and Pastor Larry Cockrell.

DAY 1: Pray that the Spirit of the Lord God would be upon the leadership team, current volunteers, and all those whom God is now calling to serve with Oak Tree Ministries. “Pray as He has sent us, we will be used by Him to bind up the brokenhearted and bring good news to the poor.”

Day 2: Pray that Oak Tree Ministries would effectively proclaim liberty to the captives, liberty found only in Jesus Christ. Pray God would open the prison doors of those who are bound in sin, and that as they hear the gospel, chains would be broken and God would give them gladness instead of mourning and lips of praise rather than fainting spirits.

Day 3: Pray that Oak Tree Ministries would be used by The Lord to raise up for himself oak trees of righteousness out of the chaos in Marks Village and that His splendor would be displayed among all people. Pray that the people of the village would then build up the ancient ruins of the village, and repair their ruined city and the devastations of many generations.

Day 4: Pray that our neighbors in Marks Village would no longer have shame, but a double portion; no longer suffer dishonor, but rejoice in their lot; no longer mourn, but have everlasting joy that is held in the nail pierced hands of Jesus.

Day 5: Pray that the Lord who loves justice and hates wrong will change the hearts and ways of everyone in Marks Village. Ask God to keep Oak Tree Ministries acting justly, glorifying a just God, loving mercy as He has mercifully loved them, and walking humbly with Him in the paths He directs.

Day 6: Pray that as the earth brings forth sprouts and a garden causes what is sown to sprout, The LORD God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up in Marks Village until the trumpet sounds. Pray that at His coming, He would find His people there faithfully exulting in His name, clothed in garments of salvation and wearing Christ’s robe of righteousness.

This week we are praying for Brook Hills Member Organization, SPEAR International Ministries. SPEAR International exists to encourage, equip, and empower believers worldwide to fulfill their role in the great commission. SPEAR primarily serves in Kenya, Cuba, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. Join us this week as we pray for SPEAR, their leadership, and the work God is doing in and through their ministry. DAY 1: Praise God for SPEAR and all He is accomplishing through their ministry. Praise God for the way the gospel is spreading through the partnership with SPEAR and the local church around the world.

DAY 2: Praise God for His blessing on the SPEAR Board of Directors and a meeting they held last Saturday to discuss future plans. Pray for God to continue to guide and bless as they move forward with the direction He has given.

DAY 3: Praise God for the group of U.S. pastors who will go to Southeast Asia in October and Kenya in December to train church leaders. Pray for God to guide pastors in their lesson preparation and to prepare the hearts of listeners so that many believers and churches will be impacted.

DAY 4: Pray for wisdom, faith, and courage as the leadership of SPEAR IM seeks to discern and follow the leading of God.

DAY 5: Praise God for leading SPEAR to partner with a ministry team to Cuba in the coming months. Pray for many to mobilize and participate in this ministry opportunity for the sake of the gospel to Cuba.

DAY 6: Pray for God to continue to strengthen SPEAR’s ministry and influence around the world.
