Ministry Role & Responsibility: As the College Minister, I have the privilege of pursuing, shepherding, and discipling college-aged students (18-25) and connecting them to our ministry and faith family. We love Jesus, grow in Jesus, and make disciples of Jesus primarily through an amazing team of volunteer small group leaders. Together, we desire to reach the city of Birmingham and the world with the gospel, one student at a time.  

About Me: I’m originally from Southern California, and grew up playing indoor and beach volleyball. I graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary through an online partnership with Brook Hills that brought me to Birmingham and connected me to our College Ministry. My wife of 14 years, Jeannette, and I have five children: Madison (10), Gavin (8), Damien (6), Savannah (4), and Derek (2).

We love being outdoors as a family, doing anything from hiking and camping in the mountains, to playing sports and having fun in the sand at the beach! I have gone from playing indoor and sand volleyball for over 28 years to now coaching the next generation, including my daughter Madison!

Interesting Fact: I grew four inches in one very painful summer, graduating from middle school at 6’1 and entering into a very awkward freshman year of high school at 6’5. When people talk about growing pains, I can TOTALLY relate!!
