Megan Riley

Member Care Ministry Assistant

Ministry Role & Responsibilities: As the Member Care Ministry Assistant, my role is to provide administrative support to the Member Care Team. I have the opportunity to serve both the team and our faith family in matters related to membership, biblical counseling, pastoral care, benevolence, hospitality, and Communion. I also serve as a backup to the church’s main receptionist.

About Me: I’m originally from Dothan, AL. When I was a teenager, the Lord opened my eyes and ears to the good news of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. I moved to Birmingham in 2006 to attend Samford University. After graduating, I taught middle and high school Literature and Drama for five years. Then, I lived in Central Asia serving families and fellowships with education needs for three and a half years. In 2022, I returned to Birmingham and now serve on the Member Care Team. In my free time, I enjoy an eclectic mixture of interests in reading, writing, nature, travel, cultures, languages, music, sports, and the fine arts.

Favorite Scripture:

"For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." – 1 Corinthians 1:22-24

Interesting Fact: As a kid, I lived on a 40-acre pecan orchard that my parents farmed as a hobby. As an adult, I moved to a city of 3 million people in Central Asia. I love both places despite how different they are.
