Kathy Woods

City Ministries Associate Minister

Ministry Role & Responsibility: I was born and raised in Birmingham and have lived here my entire life. Watching the city change over the past forty years has given me a passion for racial equity, ministering to the broken-hearted, and loving my neighbors well. Through my role on the City Ministries Team, I have the pleasure of helping the orphans, widows, and burdened not only find encouragement and hope, but also emergency and long-term resources through our City Ministries partners.

About Me: I am a wife to Robert and mother to Katlyn and Michael. Our family currently lives in Trussville on the Cahaba River, where we spend many weekends fishing, tubing, and hiking the river. My heart beats for evangelism and missions. I have been on mission trips from New York City to Fucecchio, Italy, and many places in between. As someone who has experienced the brokenness of sin firsthand, it is my joy to be able to share the Good News of Jesus and what He has accomplished in my life to those that don’t yet know the freedom and love that Christ gives.

Favorite Scripture:

“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:9-10

Interesting Fact: I received early admission to Samford University and completely skipped my senior year of high school!
