Women’s Community and Mom Time Groups

Our morning Women's Community Group is a multi-generational gathering of women who come together to study the Bible, grow in their faith, and cultivate friendship.

This Community Group will start in the Community Room for large group time and then break into small group discussion time.

Our Mom Time small groups are designed for mothers of young children still at home to be led and discipled by older women, studying the Bible and building friendships and fellowships.

Mom Time Small Groups will start and remain in their individual rooms each week.

Both groups will study together this semester:

Click here to order your workbook for this spring semester.

Each workbook now has a code for viewing each week's video teaching on your own if you miss a week of our large group video time.  If you purchase Take Courage from Lifeway and there is not a video access code printed in the back of the book, check your email for the code. You can also access it in your lifeway.com account under the digital library and "my list" or, using the Lifeway on Demand app, access them under "My list" from the drop down menu."

Each of these small groups will also have an opportunity to form friendships across the generations as we pair these small groups with our Mom Time small groups forming Sister Groups.

Sister Groups are two small groups that will intentionally spend time together during the semester to form stronger friendships and model Titus 2 in our church.

Coffee and light refreshments will be provided each week, and water refill stations are also available.

 Nan Brinkerhoff
I have four adult kids, one precious grandbaby named Ellie, and a Jack Russell named Fidget.  I love The Church at Brook Hills and have been
attending and involved in various aspects of serving for about 10 years. I enjoy reading, swimming, hiking and I do Pilates (although I can’t say I enjoy the pain of that).

Deb Bengtson
I enjoy spending family time with my husband of 43 years and my two daughters’ families, which includes four precious grandchildren.  I have found a passion in teaching the Bible to women at a local addiction recovery facility, while also loving to gather at church with my BH women’s small group.

Carol Brown
I have been married to Bill Brown for 54 wonderful years. We have two children and three grandchildren. I especially love the ministry which God has called me to with women.

Phaedra Galloway
I live in Pelham with my husband and youngest daughter. I lead and love a multigenerational women's bible study and attend a women's community bible study.

Katie Grubbs
I'm an adjunct professor of English, teaching online for Houston Christian University. Three of our four kids are on the autism spectrum, so I have a passion for supporting other special needs moms. I love teaching the Bible to women and showing how it connects with and inspires church history, literature, and art.

Jan Hendrickson
I've been married to Claude for 37 years and have three grown children. I am blessed with four grandchildren. I've led a multigenerational small group on Wednesday mornings for several years and I've learned so much more from them than they have from me.

Michelle Hower
I live in Leeds with my husband, three sons, and my mom. I teach a multigenerational women's group on Wednesday mornings.  I really enjoy opportunities to do ministry in multigenerational ways.

Lee Peavy
God has blessed me with the privilege of serving on the staff of churches and ministry organizations for many years. My passion is to disciple women to become wholehearted followers of Jesus, to walk in their identity as believers, and to challenge them to become more like Him.

Shawn Grubb
Rob and I have been married for 32 years. We have three precious daughters, three wonderful sons-in-law, four grandsons, and one granddaughter. It is one of my deepest joys to come alongside young women, as they are in the midst of some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

Cathy Joiner
I have been married to Mike Joiner for over 42 years. We have one daughter, and she and her husband have one son. They are also foster parents and have one foster son in their home right now. We have been members of Brook Hills for 22 years, and I have led Mom Time groups for five years.

Allison Sowell
I’m the wife of Charles and mom to three young adult sons. Having finally finished homeschooling them, I have LOVED getting to focus some of my time with young women as a Mom Time leader at Brook Hills! The Lord has given me a real heart for mentoring young moms and coming alongside them to encourage them as wives and mothers!

Angelia Stewart
My name is Angelia Stewart.  Me, my husband, Rich, and our children have been a part of Brook Hills for over 24 years! I became a Christ follower at a young age and I really began to grow in my faith after I got married and had children. My husband and I have led a small group and I have led women’s studies in the past.

Karen Thompson
My name is Karen Thompson. My husband is Alan and we have six grown children plus three grandchildren.  We have been a part of Brook Hills for over 22 years. I have served in areas related to children, youth, adoption, and special needs, but this is my first time leading adults.
