Focus Studies are short-term classes or support groups that take a closer look at God’s Word as it relates to a specific book of the Bible or topic to help us grow in Jesus. They give us the chance to explore these topics or books together over a few weeks time.  


NAVIGATING MARRIAGE – A four-week study on marriage, led by Alan and Melissa Chappell, will be offered on Sunday mornings at 10:35 beginning August 24 in B303. Based on Paul David Tripp’s book, What Did You Expect?, you’ll learn how to navigate the challenges of marriage by focusing on grace, communication, and a Christ-centered approach to relationships.  Ebook versions are available for purchase on Amazon and other retailers; however, print copies are not as widely available.  Please register at the link below.

MONEYWISE: PRACTICAL, BIBLICAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT - This six-week Focus Study will meet on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, beginning August 27 in B313. Topics include living with an eternal perspective, creating a spending plan, generosity, debt, and saving. MISSIONS 101: HOW TO IMPACT THE NATIONS FOR CHRIST - Join us for this six-week study to learn what the Bible says about global missions, the need for Christ to be known around the world, and how you can play a part in His cause.  The study will be led by Chip Bugnar and Brooks Werk at 10:35am on Sundays beginning September 7 in B308. CARING FOR AGING PARENTS- Join Brook Hills members and panelists, Marva Bailey, Patti Black, Laura Dunham, and Kay Wilburn on Sunday, September 21, at 10:35am in the Community Room for a discussion on caring for aging family members.  Attendees will learn practical strategies for financial planning, legal preparation, and compassionate care. OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY – Have you ever longed for a deeper understanding of the Old Testament and how it matters today? Join us for a four-week journey through the Old Testament where we’ll look at The Pentateuch/Law, Historical Books, Poetry and Wisdom Literature, and Prophecy. CHRIST AND CULTURE- How should Christians relate to the culture around them? This four-week study, led by Parker Snider, will explore five models of cultural engagement. We’ll examine the roots of each approach, consider their strengths and limitations, and reflect on what faithfulness might look like for followers of Jesus today.
