2021 Student Mission Trips

Throughout the year we offer several mission experiences all around the world. Each trip is geared toward a specific age-range to facilitate a growing experience in the student’s life as well as match their maturity level.

Student applications and deposits will be received between January 1st and February 21st, 2021.

Three Steps Students Need to Take to Apply for a Trip

  1. Access, complete, and submit the application associated with the specific trip. We recommend that you review the application, prepare your answers in a word processing program, and then cut and paste them into the appropriate places. When the application document is complete, submit it online through Service Reef.
  2. Complete the required waivers and forms. Once you have applied and been accepted to a trip, you will need to complete the required forms online through Service Reef, which include a Medical Release and Consent Form (Please include the child's medical information, but the parent/guardian's contact information).
  3. Turn in a $100 deposit to a member of the Student Ministry Team or drop it in the lock box in the Student Center after you're application has been accepted. If you are paying with a check, please make the check payable to The Church at Brook Hills. Please write the name of the destination and dates of the trip on the memo line of the check, and place it in an envelope labeled with the student’s name and requested trip.

Selection Process

Our goal is to see disciples made in and through generations of students. We want every student to have the opportunity to see God work in, through, and around their lives both at home and abroad. The Student Staff will work with the Global Disciple-Making Staff to place students on the best trip for them and the team. Students will be selected based on a variety of factors, such as their involvement in a small group, their maturity among their peers, their experience on past trips, and the date on which their application was received. No single factor will determine a student’s opportunity to be a part of the team. All selected students’ deposits will become non-refundable upon the first payment deadline, and those who are not selected will receive their deposits back. Normally, deposits and payments are non-refundable; however, in case of emergencies we will do our best to work with you in order to get your money returned or applied to another global trip. Please review the cost and payment schedule for your requested trip as a student who does not meet payment deadlines will risk being removed from the trip.

Team Training

Students will be required to attend four training sessions before their trip. Parents are asked to please attend both the first and last training sessions with their students. Students may not miss more than one training date or they will risk being removed from the team. The Team Leader may at any time see the need to remove a student from a team due to an issue of serious nature. However, parents will be contacted before this decision is made in an attempt to avoid this consequence. Any decision of the team leader in conjunction the Student Ministry Staff and Global Disciple-Making Staff will be final.
