In light of Pastor Matt's sermon series Imago Dei and Brook Hills statement on Race, Racism, and the Gospel, City Ministries will be leading two book studies on the topic of racial reconciliation.
One of these studies will be on Mark Vroegop's book, Weep With Me. In an effort to bridge the canyon of misunderstanding, insensitivity, and hurt, Mark Vroegop writes about the practice of lament, which he defines as "the biblical language of empathy and exile, perseverance and protest." Encouraging you to "weep with those who weep" (Rom. 12:15), Vroegop invites you to mourn with him over the brokenness that has caused division and to use lament to begin the journey toward a diverse and united church.
This group will be led by our newest City Ministry team member, Kathy Woods and her husband, Robert. This will be a Zoom meeting on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
Due to the sensitive topic and to make room for open discussion, the group size will be limited to 14 people.
